21. Free Volume and Mesopores in Polymer Nanocomposites
Abstract : The free volume in polymers is coupled to several important physical properties, such as density, viscosity and gas diffusivity. The physical properties of polymers close to a solid surface have been shown to be significantly perturbed as compared to their bulk state. READ MORE

22. Molecularly Imprinted Matrices for Electrochromatography
Abstract : This thesis deals with the combination of electrochromatography and molecular imprinting technology. Electrochromatography is characterised by high separation efficiency, simple instrumentation, and minute consumption of sample. READ MORE

23. Crystallographic Studies of Ternary Chalcogenides and Organic Semiconductors
Abstract : X-ray diffraction methods have been used to study the crystal structure of different compounds, both organic and inorganic. The inorganic compounds were all synthesized by solid state reactions. A new compound, Re4As6S3, was synthesized and its structure was solved by Rietveld methods. READ MORE

24. Amphiphilic Graft Copolymer Electrolytes for Lithium-Ion Polymer Batteries. - Preparation and Characterisation
Abstract : In the present work amphiphilic graft copolymers were prepared by free radical copolymerization of macromonomers in solution. The graft copolymers consisted of methacrylate backbones bearing ethylene oxide (EO)n side chains of varying length as ionophilic groups, and fluorocarbon (CF2)6 side chains or hydrocarbon groups as ionophobic groups. 25. Influence of solid solutions on the properties of some apatite-type calcium salts relevant to the production of phosphate and silicate cements
Abstract : The effects of non-stoichiometry and isomorphic substitutions on the properties of some apatite-type compounds were investigated. These investigations were performed both in the fields of Portland cement chemistry and apatitic calcium phosphate-based biocements. READ MORE
