  1. 1. Factors affecting MFI membrane quality

    Author : Charlotte Andersson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical Technology; Kemisk teknologi;

    Abstract : Zeolites are crystalline aluminosilicates with molecular sieving properties and are widely used in industrial applications such as catalysis, sorption and ion-exchange. Zeolite membranes are highly interesting due to their capability to continuously separate molecules under severe conditions. READ MORE

  2. 2. Properties of molecular sieve membranes

    Author : Charlotte Andersson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical Technology; Kemisk teknologi;

    Abstract : Zeolites are crystalline aluminosilicates with molecular sieving properties and are widely used in industry for catalysis, sorption and ion-exchange applications. Zeolite membranes are commercially interesting since this technology may be employed for continuous separation of molecules under severe conditions. READ MORE

  3. 3. Towards Pharmacological Treatment of Cystic Fibrosis

    Author : Charlotte Andersson; Aleksander Edelman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cell biology; cystic fibrosis; airway epithelium; genotype; CFTR; chloride transport; genistein; phenotype; phenylbutyrate; S-nitrosoglutathione; Cellbiologi; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; entomologi; Entomology;

    Abstract : S-nitrosogluthatione is an endogenous substance, present at decreased levels in the lungs of CF patients and was recently found to induce mature CFTR in airway epithelial CF cell lines. We show that S-nitrosoglutathione in physiological concentrations increases the presence of ΔF508 CFTR in the cell membrane and induces cAMP dependent chloride transport in cystic fibrosis airway epithelial cells. 4. 4. Vitreoscilla hemoglobin. In vitro mutagenesis and transcript profiling to improve its biotechnological usefulness

    Author : Charlotte Andersson; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemical technology; Biokemisk teknik; gene expression analysis; transcript profiling; microarray; DNA chips; microaerobic; hypoxia; oxygen-limited; bacterial hemoglobin; Escherichia coli; Vitreoscilla hemoglobin VHb ;

    Abstract : Vitreoscilla is an obligate aerobic bacterium found in oxygen-poor environments such as stagnant ponds and decaying vegetable matter. Vitreoscilla induces the production of a homodimeric hemoglobin (VHb) when subjected to oxygen-limiting conditions. READ MORE

  5. 5. Characterization of novel glomerular proteins : role in physiology and disease

    Author : Ann-Charlotte Andersson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Glomerular damage accounts for the majority of chronic kidney disease cases, the prevalence of which is dramatically escalating worldwide, mainly due to increase in diabetes and associated nephropathy. The costs for treatment of CKD represent an enormous burden to the health care system. READ MORE
