1. Low molecular mass proteins as markers for renal function and dialysis efficiency
Abstract : Kidney disease is a growing problem in the whole world. It is important to find these patients in an early state of the disease because then they can be treated and dialysis treatment can be avoided. To measure the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) an invasive technigue is used. READ MORE

2. Intracellular free amino acids and nutritional status in children with chronic renal failure on different treatments
Abstract : In untreated adult patients with chronic renal failure (CRF), and in chronic ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) and kidney-transplanted patients, typical plasma and muscle intracellular amino acid (AA) patterns have been described. Similar AA abnormalities to those seen in adult patients have been observed in plasma and muscle tissue of children with CRF, but no studies have been undertaken to evaluate the AA levels in plasma and muscle in children on CAPD or after kidney transplantation. 3. Lower urinary tract dysfunction in children with chronic kidney disease : before an after renal transplantation
Abstract : Chronic kidney disease (CKD) in children is a complex condition with the risk of progression to end-stage renal disease (ESRD) requiring dialysis or renal transplantation. Children with CKD and pediatric renal transplant recipients face a variety of complications, such as side effects of the treatment and concerns about deterioration of graft function. READ MORE

4. Long-term outcome of renal transplantation in childhood
Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the long-term results of renal transplantation in children at Huddinge University Hospital, with special reference to outcome. We therefore evaluated the course of events in children (age 0.1-16 years) transplanted between December 1981 and December 1991 during a 10-20-year period until 2001. READ MORE
