  1. 1. Chlorine Transport in a Small Catchment

    Author : Teresia Svensson; Gunilla Öberg; Katarina Abrahamsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; catchment; chloride; chlorine; chloroform; organic chlorine; runoff water; soil; VOCls; avrinningsområde; avrinningsvatten; flyktiga klorerade föreningar klor; klorid; kloroform; organiskt klor; mark; Water in nature and society; Vatten i natur och samhälle;

    Abstract : De senaste decenniernas forskning har påvisat att en omfattande bildning och nedbrytning av klororganiska föreningar sker i mark. Bildning av sådana föreningar sker genom att klorid binds in i organiskt material. READ MORE

  2. 2. Physical properties and crystallization of theophylline co-crystals

    Author : Shuo Zhang; Åke Rasmuson; Per Svensson; Mårten Behm; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Theophylline; oxalic acid; glutaric acid; maleic acid; co-crystal; decomposition temperature; melting temperature; solubility; crystallization; Molecular transport processes in chemical process engineering; Molekylära transportprocesser i kemisk processteknik;

    Abstract : This work focuses on the physical properties and crystallization of theophyline co-crystals. Co-crystals of theophylline with oxalic acid, glutaric acid and maleic acid have been investigated. The DSC curves of these co-crystals show that their first endothermic peaks are all lower than the melting temperature of theophylline. READ MORE

  3. 3. Occupational exposure to trichloramine and trihalomethanes : adverse respiratory and ocular effects among Swedish indoor swimming pool workers

    Author : Jessica Westerlund; Håkan Westberg; Nils Plato; Sandra Johannesson; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biomedicin; Biomedicine;

    Abstract : Occupational exposure in swimming pool facilities related to disinfection by-products (DBPs) has been an issue for the last 15 years. Trichloramine (NCl3) and trihalomethanes (THMs) are DBPs formed in swimming pool water following a reaction between organic matter containing nitrogen or organic or inorganic matter, and chlorine. 4. 4. Studies on the different inhibitors of the inhibitor β complex from resting potatoes

    Author : Jeevalatha Franklin; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Seasonal changes of the inhibiting substances in the inhibitor B complex were studied in diethyl ether and methanol extracts of peelings from potato tubers (Solanum tuberosum L. variety Majestic), prepared during dormancy and cessation of dormancy. At each extraction time experiments were performed to determine the stage of rest in the tubers. READ MORE

  5. 5. Paramagnetic relaxation reagents : nuclear magnetic resonance studies of preferential solvation

    Author : Hans Grahn; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The interactions between neutral paramagnetic relaxation reagents (PARR's) and certain aromatic compounds have been studied by 1H and 13 C spin-lattice relaxation time measurements. In media such as cyclohexane and carbon tetrachloride, Cr(acac)3 becomes preferentially solvated by aromatic solutes. READ MORE
