  1. 6. Novel imaging technology and tools for biomarker detection in cancer

    Author : Zahra El-Schich; Malmö högskola; []
    Keywords : Biomarkers; Kronisk lymfatisk leukemi; Early detection of cancer; Diagnosis; Leukemia; Lymphocytic; Chronic; B-Cell; Apoptosis; Digital holografi;

    Abstract : Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide. Normally the balance betweencell growth and cell death is strongly controlled. Chronic lymphocytic leukemiais an indolent disease that has a highly variable clinical course and is the mostcommon hematological malignancy amongst adults in the Western countries. READ MORE

  2. 7. Array based genetic profiling of chronic lymphocytic leukemia

    Author : Rebeqa Gunnarsson; Stamcellscentrum (SCC); []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; prognostic markers; copy-number neutral loss of heterozygosity; copy-number aberrations; chronic lymphocytic leukemia; genomic microarrays; clonal evolution; stereotyped B-cell receptors;

    Abstract : Although no common genetic defect has been described in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), recurrent genomic aberrations (i.e. deletions of chromosome 11q, 13q, 17p and trisomy 12) are important for prognostication. Deletion of 13q as single aberration is associated with the best prognosis, whereas del(11q) and del(17p) predict a poor outcome. READ MORE

  3. 8. RNA-based Prognostic Markers in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

    Author : Marie Sevov; Richard Rosenquist; Mahmoud Mansouri; Denis Alexander; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Chronic lymphocytic leukemia; prognostic markers; RNA-based markers; LPL; Molecular medicine genetics and pathology ; Molekylär medicin genetik och patologi ; Haematology; Hematologi; Medical Science; Medicinsk vetenskap;

    Abstract : Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a heterogeneous disease where a significant proportion of patients will develop an aggressive disease. Today, the mutational status of the immunoglobulin heavy variable (IGHV) genes is one of the strongest prognostic markers in CLL, where unmutated IGHV genes correlate with poor outcome. READ MORE

  4. 9. Telomere length as prognostic parameter in chronic lymphocytic leukemia

    Author : Pawel Grabowski; Göran Roos; Ylva Paulsson Karlsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; telomere length; chronic lymphocytic leukemia; prognosis; longitudinal sampling; genomic aberrations; IGHV; CD38; ZAP70; prognostic factors; Pathology; Patologi; patologi; Pathology;

    Abstract : B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) is the most common leukemia among the adult population in western countries and accounts for 30-40% of all leukemias. With survival time ranging from months to decades, the clinical course of individual CLL patients is highly variable. READ MORE

  5. 10. Restricted antigen recognition in B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia

    Author : Anna Lanemo Myhrinder; Anders Rosén; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Chronic lymphocytic leukemia; auto antigens; CLL cell lines; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells are considered to be derived from antigen-exposed B cells. To further explore the antigen-driven selection behind the leukemogenesis of CLL, we performed immunoglobulin (Ig) specificity screening of 7 CLL cell lines and 23 primary CLL clones from patient peripheral blood.
