  1. 1. Molecular beam study of non-adiabatic electron transfer in the Cl2+Ksurf surface reaction

    Author : Lars Hellberg; [2009]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; harpooning; electron transfer; Cl2; surface; exo-electrons; sticking; halogen; non-adiabatic; chemiluminescence;

    Abstract : Halogen molecules impinging on alkali metal surfaces constitute model systems for studies of charge transfer, dissociation dynamics and non-adiabatic energy dissipation in molecule-surface reactions. This thesis reports emission of exo-electrons and photons from the surface as a result of strong non-adabaticity in the Cl2 gas on K$^{solid}$ reaction. READ MORE

  2. 2. Structure and Dynamics of Core-Excited Species

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Oksana Travnikova; Maria Novella Piancastelli; Svante Svensson; Denis Ceolin; Pascal Lablanqui; [2008]
    Keywords : Physics; Synchrotron radiation; X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy XPS ; X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy XAS ; Resonant Auger Spectroscopy RAS ; Auger Electron Spectroscopy AES ; Energy-Selected Auger Electron PhotoIon COincidence ES-AEPICO ; core excitation; core ionization; linear free energy relationships LFER ; molecular-field splitting; substituent effects; nuclear dynamics; isomerization; Cl2; N2O; methane derivatives; allene; acetylacetone; Fysik;

    Abstract : In this thesis we have performed core-electron spectroscopy studies of gas phase molecular systems starting with smaller diatomic, continuing with triatomic and extending our research to more complex polyatomic ones. We can subdivide the results presented here into two categories: the first one focusing on electronic fine structure and effect of the chemical bonds on molecular core-levels and the other one dealing with nuclear dynamics induced by creation of a core hole. 3. 3. Creating Optical Activity: Total Spontaneous Resolution and Viedma Ripening

    University dissertation from Göteborg : Göteborgs universitet

    Author : Per Martin Björemark; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2017]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Optical activity; absolute asymmetric synthesis; total spontaneous resolution; Viedma ripening; grinding; chirality; conglomerate; coordination compound; coordination polymer; single crystal X-ray diffraction; solvent free oxidation; nantioselective sulfide oxidation; solid state VCD;

    Abstract : The creation of optical activity has been considered as something impossible even though reports of such creation via total spontaneous resolution since the 1940´s have been published. More recently Viedma ripening have been developed that also produce enantiopure bulk product. Both methods are examples of absolute asymmetric synthesis i.e. READ MORE

  4. 4. Deterioration of Polyethylene Exposed to Chlorinated Species in Aqueous Phases Test Methods, Antioxidants Consumption and Polymer Degradation

    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Antioxidants; Polyethylene pipes; Chlorine dioxide; Degradation;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a study of antioxidant depletion in water containing chlorinated species (water containing 10 ppm either Cl2 or ClO2, buffered to pH = 6.8), the degradation products in the aqueous phase, and polyethylene pipe degradation scenarios. READ MORE

  5. 5. Ni-based coatings for high temperature corrosion protection

    University dissertation from Trollhättan : University West

    Author : Esmaeil Sadeghimeresht; Shrikant V. Joshi; Nicolaie Markocsan; Petri Vuoristo; [2018]
