1. Climate Change: Models, Metrics and Meaning Making
Abstract : This thesis, combining research in climate science and educational science, investigates different aspects of climate knowledge. It consists of five papers and covers three major topics: emission metrics, public understanding of atmospheric CO2 accumulation, and spatial modelling of natural resource use. READ MORE

2. Research and reflections on European air pollution policy support models
Abstract : European emissions to air of SO2, NOx, PM2.5, NH3 and NMVOC still today cause harm to human health and the environment. These pollutants are associated with the premature death of ~400 000 people annually in the EU (25 000 perished in traffic accidents 2017). Improvements are expected but problems will persist. 3. Comparing Climate Forcers on a Common Scale
Abstract : The climate is changing at a rapid pace. Through the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the world has agreed to hold the on-going temperature increase below 2 °C. Climate change is caused by emissions of different atmospheric species (climate forcers). READ MORE

4. Modelling impact climate-related change on the thermal responses of lakes
Abstract : In response to climate-related changes, lakes worldwide have experienced warmer surface water temperatures, shorter ice cover periods and changes in lake stratification. As these aspects of lake dynamics exert substantial control over nutrient availability, oxygenation and biogeochemical cycling, predicting changes in lake water temperature and stratification dynamics can improve our understanding of the consequences of warming on lake ecosystems. 5. Modelling Climate Policy – Trade-Off Metrics, Resource Markets, and Uncertainty
Abstract : This thesis consists of five papers related to climate change policy. In paper I andpaper II we discuss the use of Global Warming Potentials (GWPs) that facilitate the tradeoffbetween abatement of the different greenhouse gases (GHGs). READ MORE
