  1. 1. Microstructural Development of Nanocrystalline Ni- and Co-Based Materilas upon Annealing

    Author : Melina da Silva; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : Ni; grain growth; nanocrystalline materials; Co-P; Ni-Fe; thermal stability; TEM in-situ annealing;

    Abstract : Nanocrystalline materials are a relatively new group of materials that are constituted by crystals/grains of a few nanometers in size. Because their mechanical, physical and chemical properties are often superior compared to their microcrystalline counterparts, these materials are attractive for many industrial applications. 2. 2. Degradable copolymers in additive manufacturing: controlled fabrication of pliable scaffolds

    Author : Astrid Ahlinder; Anna Finne Wistrand; T. Christian Gasser; Tiziana Fuoco; Minna Kellomäki; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Abstract : Inom vävnadsregenerering är produktionen av väldefinieradematriser med en porös arkitektur av nedbrytbara polymerer av stortintresse, dessa kan nu skapas genom additiva tillverkningsprocesser. Vidadditiv tillverkning krävs ett smalt munstycke för att skapa detaljrikastrukturer och detta ställer krav på att de reologiska egenskapernaanpassat. READ MORE

  3. 3. Thermal Stability of Electrodeposited Nanocrystalline Ni- and Co-Based Materials

    Author : Melina da Silva; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; nanocrystalline materials; 3DAP; nanocomposite; thermal stability; TEM; nickel; texture; DSC; cobalt; grain growth; EBSD;

    Abstract : The attractive properties associated with nanocrystalline materials are to a large extent a result of their high intercrystalline volume fraction. However, the intrinsic instability of the nanostructured state may compromise the gain in properties by the occurrence of grain growth during exposure at elevated temperatures. READ MORE

  4. 4. Engineering 3D degradable pliable scaffolds for adipose tissue regeneration : Advancing cell-material interactions by understanding the influence from thermal, chemical, mechanical properties and scaffold design

    Author : Shubham Jain; Anna Finne-Wistrand; Kamal Mustafa; Mikael Hedenqvist; Lauren Flynn; KTH; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Degradable polymers; 3D scaffolds; adipose tissue regeneration; cell-material interaction; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Abstract : In soft tissue defects that arise due to trauma, tumor resections and complex burns, a significant loss in adipose tissue remains a considerable challenge due to the insufficient regenerative capacity of the tissue. This thesis focuses on assessing cell-material interactions between degradable 3D polymer scaffolds with different designs and adipose tissue-derived stem cells. READ MORE

    Author : Anna Sandqvist; Gerhard Wikström; Jörn Schneede; Amrita Ahluwalia; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; vardenafil; pulmonary hypertension; pharmacokinetics; haemodynamics; right heart catheterization; adenosine; dimethylarginines; phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors; endothelin receptor antagonists; klinisk farmakologi; Clinical Pharmacology;

    Abstract : Background: Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a rare condition characterized by endothelial dysfunction and vascular remodelling, leading to increased pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) and right ventricular heart failure. Endothelial dysfunction is associated with an imbalance between vasoconstrictor compounds, such as endothelin and thromboxane A2, and vasodilator compounds, such as prostacyclin and nitric oxide (NO).
