  2. 2. Probing Atomic Scale Structure and Catalytic Properties of Cobalt Oxide Model Catalysts

    Author : Alif Arman; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Keywords : catalysis; model systems; Co3O4 111 ; Co3O4 100 ; CoO 111 ; X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy; Scanning tunneling microscopy; Fysicumarkivet A:2017:Arman;

    Abstract : Cobalt oxides are known to be active catalysts for a number of chemical reactions, but very little is known about the atomic scale processesresponsible for the activity. The research presented in this thesis is focused on obtaining an atomic scale understanding of the chemistry of wellcharacterizedcobalt oxide model catalyst surfaces consisting of pristine and defective CoO and Co3O4 thin films with the (111) and (100)terminations supported by Ag(100), Ir(100), and Au(111) single crystal surfaces. 3. 3. Solution-Chemical Synthesis of Cobalt and Iron:Zinc Oxide Nanocomposite Films

    Author : Ulrika Lagerqvist; Annika Pohl; Peter Svedlindh; Mikael Ottosson; Theodor Schneller; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fe:Zn oxide; Co-CoO; Solution-chemical synthesis; Heat treatment parameters; Nanocomposite; Film; Multilayer; Phase ratio; Phase distribution; Exchange bias; Magnetism; Photocatalysis; Chemistry with specialization in Inorganic Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : The potentially most important challenges today are related to energy and the environment. New materials and methods are needed in order to, in a sustainable way, convert and store energy, reduce pollution, and clean the air and water from contaminations. READ MORE

  4. 4. Photoelectron spectroscopy on strongly correlated systems

    Author : Oscar Tjernberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This work presents photoelectron spectroscopy data on somestrongly correlated systems. The electronic structure of the3dtransition metal oxides NiO and CoO have been studiedwith angle resolved and resonant photoemission. In the lattercase, both NiO and CoO show strong resonance effects at themetal absorption edges. READ MORE

  5. 5. Investigations of Transition Metal Systems : Angle-Resolved Photoelectron Spectroscopy at Low and High Energy

    Author : Thomas Claesson; Oscar Tjernberg; Kevin Smith; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy; electronic structure; oxides; high-temperature superconductors; Material physics with surface physics; Materialfysik med ytfysik;

    Abstract : The work presented in this thesis aims at achieving an increased understanding of the electronic structure of materials whose properties are to a large extent governed by transition metals. All studies are based on data from angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES) employed on the valence band of the studied systems. READ MORE
