  1. 1. Multi-Electron Coincidence Studies of Atoms and Molecules

    Author : Egil Andersson; Raimund Feifel; Jan-Erik Rubensson; Kiyoshi Ueda; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; multi-ionization; electron emission; time-of-flight spectroscopy; coincidence spectroscopy; core-valence ionization; synchrotron radiation; electron correlation; Atomic and molecular physics; Atom- och molekylfysik; Physics with spec. in Atomic; Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot atom- molekyl- och kondenserande materiens fysik;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns multi-ionization coincidence measurements of atoms and small molecules using a magnetic bottle time-of-flight (TOF) spectrometer designed for multi-electron coincidence studies. Also, a time-of-flight mass spectrometer has been used together with the TOF electron  spectrometer for electron-ion coincidence measurements. READ MORE

  2. 2. Ultrafast Photoionization Dynamics Studied with Coincidence Momentum Imaging Spectrometers

    Author : Yu-Chen Cheng; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Photoionization; High-order Harmonic Generation; Extreme Ultraviolet; Free-Electron Laser; Molecular Dissociation; Charge Transfer; Coincidence Measurement; Momentum Imaging; Electron Wave Packet; Fysicumarkivet A:2019:Cheng;

    Abstract : The time scale of the dynamics in atoms and molecules varies from attoseconds (10-18) to picoseconds (10-12) depending on the size of the particles. To study such dynamics, ultrafast light pulses are needed to trigger and capture the reaction. One of the most direct methods consists in ionizing the system and observing the following response. 3. 3. Fragmentation studies of small molecules using synchrotron radiation

    Author : Emilio Melero García; KTH; []
    Keywords : Coincidence; fragmentation;

    Abstract : This thesis presents experimental data on the fragmentationof gas phase sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) and deutheromethane(CD4) molecules after their interaction with synchrotronradiation in the energy range of 70-200 eV. The data wasobtained using coincidence spectroscopy between energy resolvedelectrons and ions (EREICO). READ MORE

  4. 4. Ultrafast dynamics of small quantum systems studied using electron-ion coincidence spectroscopy

    Author : Smita Ganguly; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; coincidence spectroscopy; photodissociation dynamics; fragmentation reaction; MOLECULAR-BEAM; Cluster fission; Astrochemistry; Carbon dioxide CO2 ; ; Adamantane;

    Abstract : Studying how small quantum systems, like molecules and clusters, interact with X-rays is crucial to understanding the ultrafast processes that occur in nature on incredibly short timescales, ranging from femtoseconds to picoseconds. X-rays excite small quantum systems to unstable core hole states, leading to a cascade of phenomena, including Auger decay, nuclear rearrangement, and dissociation. READ MORE

  5. 5. Single-photon multiple ionization processes studied by electron coincidence spectroscopy

    Author : Per Linusson; Mats Larsson; Raimund Feifel; Stephen Price; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; photoionization; multiple ionization; autoionization; synchrotron radiation; electron coincidence spectroscopy; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : This thesis is based on studies of multiple ionization of atoms and molecules induced by the absorption of a single photon. For the experimental investigations a time-of-flight magnetic bottle spectrometer has been used to detect the emitted electrons in coincidence. READ MORE
