1. The efficient ethanol engine with cold start capability
Abstract : In light of the world’s growing demand for personal transportation and the decreasing availability of fossil fuels, alternative fuels must be evaluated. Ethanol is a renewable fuel whose adoption could help to reduce the burden of anthropogenic activity on the environment. READ MORE

2. Outdoor Comfort in Cold Climates : Integrating Microclimate Factors in Urban Design
Abstract : Designing urban spaces that provide outdoor comfort is an important but challenging goal in subarctic climates. An approach to urban design that is sensitive to subarctic climatic conditions is essential, but this requires effective incorporation of urban climate knowledge into urban design, which presently is impeded by several barriers. 3. Ice out of Fire : Ice and cloud condensation nucleation of aerosol particles emitted from controlled soot generation and combustion of renewable fuels
Abstract : Aerosol particles, small solid or liquid particles suspended in a gas, are found everywhere in the atmosphere. Air pollution from such particles, mainly soot from combustion-derived activity is a leading cause of premature deaths in the world and have a large effect on the climate. READ MORE

4. Improved high velocity cold copaction processing : polymer powder to high performance parts
Abstract : A uniaxial High-Velocity Compaction (HVC) process for polymer powder using a cylindrical, hardened steel die and a new technique with relaxation assist was tested with a focus on the compactibility characteristics and surface morphology of the compacted materials using various heights of relaxation assist device with different compacting profiles. Relaxation assist device was presented as a new technique to reduce springback, pull-out phenomenon and to improve the compaction process. READ MORE

5. Microalgae at wastewater pond treatment in cold climate : an ecological engineering approach
Abstract : Three types of wastewater ponds in subarctic climates were investigated, each of them highly dependent on microalgae. They were fellingsdams, i.e. READ MORE
