  1. 1. DNA methylation in T cell leukaemia

    Author : Maike Bensberg; Colm Nestor; Maria Jenmalm; Sofie Degerman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : T cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (T-ALL) is a predominantly paediatric cancer that stems from malignant transformation of developing T cells. While the disease has an overall survival rate of 80%, the intense chemotherapy treatment causes severe toxicity and long-term side effects. READ MORE

  2. 2. Identification of genes and regulators that are shared across T cell associated diseases

    Author : Danuta R. Gawel; Mikael Benson; Mika Gustafsson; Colm Nestor; Erik Larsson Lekholm; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Genome-wide association studies (GWASs) of hundreds of diseases and millions of patients have led to the identification of genes that are associated with more than one disease. The aims of this PhD thesis were to a) identify a group of genes important in multiple diseases (shared disease genes), b) identify shared up-stream disease regulators, and c) determine how the same genes can be involved in the pathogenesis of different diseases. 3. 3. Dynamic regulation of DNA methylation in human T-cell biology

    Author : Antonio Lentini; Colm Nestor; Mikael Benson; Huan Zhang; Mika Gustafsson; Ian R. Adams; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : T helper cells play a central role in orchestrating immune responses in humans. Upon encountering a foreign antigen, T helper cells are activated followed by a differentiation process where the cells are specialised to help combating the infection. READ MORE

  4. 4. Multi-omic time-series analysis of T-cells as a model for identification of biomarkers, treatments and upstream disease regulators

    Author : Olof Rundquist; Mika Gustafsson; Colm Nestor; Riitta Lahesmaa; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : CD4+ T-cell function and their process of differentiation is a central piece of the puzzle in a multitude of diseases. CD4+ T-cells are part of the adaptive immune system and function by directing other immune cells to the site of infection and instructing B-cells to produce antibodies, among many other functions.
