  1. 1. Colorimetric and Multispectral Image Acquisition

    Author : Daniel Nyström; Björn Kruse; Carl-Magnus Fahlcrantz; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Color imaging; Multispectral imaging; Spectral reconstruction; Device characterization; Image analysis; Bildanalys;

    Abstract : The trichromatic principle of representing color has for a long time been dominating in color imaging. The reason is the trichromatic nature of human color vision, but as the characteristics of typical color imaging devices are different from those of human eyes, there is a need to go beyond the trichromatic approach. 2. 2. High Resolution Analysis of Halftone Prints : A Colorimetric and Multispectral Study

    Author : Daniel Nyström; Björn Kruse; Markku Hauta- Kasari; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Color imaging; Multispectral imaging; Halftone print; Dot gain; Image analysis; Bildanalys;

    Abstract : To reproduce color images in print, the continuous tone image is first transformed into a binary halftone image, producing various colors by discrete dots with varying area coverage. In halftone prints on paper, physical and optical dot gains generally occur, making the print look darker than expected, and making the modeling of halftone color reproduction a challenge. READ MORE

  3. 3. Spectral Image Processing with Applications in Biotechnology and Pathology

    Author : Milan Gavrilovic; Carolina Wählby; Ewert Bengtsson; Ingrid Carlbom; Robert Murphy; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; color theory; light microscopy; spectral imaging; image analysis; digital image processing; mathematical modeling; estimation; noise models; spectral decomposition; color decomposition; colocalization; cross-talk; autofluorescence; tissue separation; prostate cancer; biomedical applications; molecular biotechnology; histopathology; Computerized Image Processing; Datoriserad bildbehandling;

    Abstract : Color theory was first formalized in the seventeenth century by Isaac Newton just a couple of decades after the first microscope was built. But it was not until the twentieth century that technological advances led to the integration of color theory, optical spectroscopy and light microscopy through spectral image processing. READ MORE

  4. 4. Laser Doppler perfusion imaging : methodology and skin applications

    Author : Karin Wårdell; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Over the last decade a number of emerging technologies have become available for the non-invasive study of skin anatomy and physiology. In this thesis, a method for mapping tissue perfusion based on the laser Doppler technique is presented together with some of the associated experimental and clinical applications. READ MORE

  5. 5. Non-invasive ultrasound-based cardiovascular imaging in mouse models of atherosclerosis

    Author : Julia Grönros; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : atherosclerosis; ultrasound-based imaging; cardiovascular disease; coronary artery; mouse; color Doppler echocardiography; ultrasound biomicroscopy; statin;

    Abstract : Atherosclerosis is a chronic multi-factorial vascular disease. It generally requires large clinical settings and over many years to study the disease progression in man. Genetically modified mouse models of atherosclerosis have dramatically increased research feasibility within this area. READ MORE
