16. Development of New Monte Carlo Methods in Reactor Physics : Criticality, Non-Linear Steady-State and Burnup Problems
Abstract : The Monte Carlo method is, practically, the only approach capable of giving detail insight into complex neutron transport problems. In reactor physics, the method has been used mainly for determining the keff in criticality calculations. READ MORE

17. Modern Thermal Power Plants - Aspects on Modelling and Evaluation
Abstract : The European Union (EU) has laid down very clear objectives for the reduction of greenhouse gases in the hope that it will prevent or mitigate climate change. Political incentives are used to make the power industry adopt changes in order to reach these EU targets. READ MORE

18. Energy system evaluation of thermo-chemical biofuel production : Process development by integration of power cycles and sustainable electricity
Abstract : Fossil fuels dominate the world energy supply today and the transport sector is no exception. Renewable alternatives must therefore be introduced to replace fossil fuels and their emissions, without sacrificing our standard of living. READ MORE

19. The tectonic evolution of the western part of the Svecofennian orogen, central Sweden : Insight from U/Pb and 40Ar/39Ar geochronology at Forsmark
Abstract : The Forsmark area, in the western part of the Svecofennian orogen, central Sweden, is situated between two major Palaeoproterozoic tectonic domains that show contrasting histories with respect to timing of igneous activity, ductile deformation and metamorphism. At Forsmark, WNW to NW trending, ductile deformation belts anastomose around tectonic lenses with an inferred lower degree of ductile strain. READ MORE

20. Direct and indirect pressures of climate change on nutrient and carbon cycling in northern forest ecosystems : Dynamic modelling for policy support
Abstract : Northern forest ecosystems play an important role in mitigating climate change by sequestrating carbon (C), while additionally providing and regulating other ecosystem services. A majority of the Swedish environmental quality objects (EQOs) that guide Swedish environmental policy and management are associated with the forest, and they have proven difficult to achieve.
