  1. 36. Investigation of Emission Characteristics for Diluted Flames and Renewable Fuels in Gas Turbine Combustors

    Author : Fredrik Hermann; Kraftverksteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; framdrivningssystem; Motorer; termodynamik; Motors and propulsion systems; Termisk teknik; applied thermodynamics; Thermal engineering; combustor rig experiments; combustor reactor models; synthetic fuel; liquid fuel; gaseous fuel; UHC; CO; NOx; emission measurements; CO2 enriched; humidified combustion; diluted combustion; premixed combustion; Gas turbine; combustion chamber; Energiforskning; Energy research;

    Abstract : Gas turbines have served as economically profitable and reliable generators of power for the past few decades, and have mainly been used in simple and combined cycles. The increased restrictions on hazardous emissions and the increased demand for profitability have created new prospects for innovative power cycles. READ MORE

  2. 37. Fatigue limit, inclusion and finite lives - a statistical point of view

    Author : Sara Lorén; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; censoring; likelihood; profile predictive likelihood; staircase test; extreme value; likelihood;

    Abstract : An important design property of steel is the fatigue limit, i.e. the load level where a specimen has infinite life. For the material it can also be defined an endurance limit, which is the stress level at which the specimen has a certain life. READ MORE

  3. 38. Building Sustainable Batteries : Organic electrodes based on Li- and Na-benzenediacrylate

    Author : Alina Oltean; Daniel Brandell; Leif Nyholm; Steven Renault; Martin Sjödin; Robert Dominko; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Organic Electrode Materials; Li-ion Batteries; Na-ion Batteries; Calendaring; Recycling Process; Kemi med inriktning mot materialkemi; Chemistry with specialization in Materials Chemistry;

    Abstract : As possible alternatives to the conventional inorganic Li- or Na-ion battery electrode materials, organic compounds have recently drawn considerable attention. However, major challenges such as poor electronic conductivity, solubility in battery electrolyte or fast capacity decay of the resulting electrochemical cells are some of the reasons that hold these compounds back from becoming commercial solutions in the energy system. 4. 39. Mechanisms and Consequences of Chromosomal Instability in Malignant tumours

    Author : Ylva Stewénius; Avdelningen för klinisk genetik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; structural rearrangement; Ewing family tumour; Chromosomal instability; nephroblastoma; Wilms tumour; chromosomal aberration; anaphase bridge; subtelomeric FISH; breakage-fusion-bridge cycle;

    Abstract : In this thesis, telomere deficiency with subsequent anaphase bridging was found to be associated with chromosomal instability in established colorectal cancer cell lines and in Wilms tumour. In colorectal cancer cell lines, anaphase bridging was observed to generate both numerical and structural chromosomal aberrations and was also associated with the presence of multipolar mitoses. 5. 40. State-of-Health Estimation of Li-ion Batteries: Cycle Life Test Methods

    Author : Jens Groot; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; EV; DVA; ICA; cycle life test; HEV; battery testing; State-of-health; battery model; PHEV; lithium-ion battery; impedance spectroscopy;

    Abstract : Despite a rapid development, cost, performance and durability of the energy storage system are still a hindrance for a wide commercialisation of heavy-duty hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). The purpose of the work presented in this thesis is to investigate how different load cycle properties affect the cycle life and ageing processes of Li-ion cells developed for use in HEVs. READ MORE
