6. Recycling Filter Substrates used for Phosphorus Removal from Wastewater as Soil Amendments
Abstract : This thesis studied the viability of recycling filter substrates as soil amendments after being used in on-site systems for phosphorus (P) removal from wastewater. Focus was put on the materials Filtra P and Polonite, which are commercial products used in compact filters in Sweden. READ MORE

7. Design, Fabrication and Characterization of Microwave Passive Devices on Liquid Crystal Polymer Substrates
Abstract : For microwave/millimeter (mm)-wave systems’ applications, as frequency is moving towards higher and higher bands, materials and integration technologies are witnessing higher performance demands and constraints. The materials presently used as mm-wave substrates are either expensive or show unsatisfactory performance. READ MORE

8. VCSELs for High-Speed, Long-Reach, and Wavelength-Multiplexed Optical Interconnects
Abstract : The vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) is the standard light source in short-reach fiber-optic links in datacenters and supercomputers. These systems use an enormous number of links, making cost and energy efficiency pressing issues. READ MORE

10. Engineered Wetlands and Reactive Bed Filters for Treatment of Landfill Leachate
Abstract : The main objectives of this study were to investigate (i) anovel wetland treatment technology and (ii) selected bed filtermedia for the removal of contaminants from landfill leachate. Areview of the literature concerning experiences of the use ofconstructed wetlands (CW) for the removal of nitrogen fromlandfill leachate, showed that at least three groups oftreatment systems are in practice: sub-surface flow wetlands, hybrid systems (a combination of vertical and horizontal flowwetlands) and, compact constructed wetland (CCW).
