16. Steady-State Diffusion in Complex Amphiphilic Films
Abstract : The relation between structure and diffusive transport at steady-state is investigated theoretically for amphiphilic systems. Amphiphilic systems typically show a large response to moderate changes in control parameters, such as temperature, osmotic pressure, and the presence of cosolvents and cosolutes. READ MORE

17. Physiological consequences of Elongator complex inactivation in Eukaryotes
Abstract : Mutations found in genes encoding human Elongator complex subunits have been linked to neurodevelopmental disorders such as familial dysautonomia (FD), rolandic epilepsy and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. In addition, loss-of-function mutations in genes encoding Elongator complex subunits cause defects in neurodevelopment and reduced neuronal function in both mice and nematodes. READ MORE

18. Extraction Properties of some Nitrogen-Containing Extractants and Determination of Nitrate Complex Formation for Lanthanides and Selected Actinides Using Solvent Extraction
Abstract : Partitioning and transmutation of spent nuclear fuel will reduce the amount of waste and its radiotoxicity in a long-term perspective. At the same time the energy content of the spent nuclear fuel can be used more efficiently by recycling of uranium and plutonium and by using energy from the transmutation reactor. READ MORE

19. Synthesis of complex organics via molecular growth mechanisms : Combined experimental and theoretical studies on ion-neutral reactions of C2H2N+ with ubiquitous hydrocarbons in Titan's ionosphere
Abstract : To provide insights on the molecular growth mechanisms leading to large carbon and nitrogen-bearing species in Titan’s ionosphere, laboratory measurements of ion-neutral reactions were conducted and the results are presented in the following doctoral dissertation. The product ions of the C2H2N+ reactions with saturated and unsaturated neutral hydrocarbons have been investigated using Guided Ion Beam Mass Spectrometer (GIB-MS). READ MORE

20. Molecular Probing of Local Protein-Protein Interactions : Studies of the tissue factor, factor VIIa complex formation
Abstract : Protein-protein interactions are intrinsic to virtually all cellular processes. However, very little is known about the dynamics of the formation of protein complexes or the order of events that direct the association between two protein molecules (the association pathway), especially when different interacting surfaces are involved.
