    Abstract : This thesis concerns numerical calculations of compressible separated flows, with and without shocks, around wing sections using Large Eddy Simulations (LES). The considered geometries are the NACA 0012 wing section and the ONERA AT15A wing section. READ MORE

  3. 3. Turbulence modeling of compressible flows with large density variation

    Author : Igor Grigoriev; Arne Johansson; Stefan Wallin; Geert Brethouwer; Stefan Hickel; KTH; []

    Abstract : In this study we highlight the influence of mean dilatation and mean density gradient on the Reynolds stress modeling of compressible, heat-releasing and supercritical turbulent flows.Firstly, the modeling of the rapid pressure-strain correlation has been extended to self-consistently account for the influence of mean dilatation. 4. 4. Flow Measuring Techniques in Steady and Pulsating Compressible Flows

    Author : Fredrik Laurantzon; Henrik Alfredsson; Björn Lindgren; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flow measuring; compressible flow; steady flow; pulsating flow; hot-wire anemometry; cold-wire anemometry; Engineering mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with flow measuring techniques applied on steady and pulsatingflows. Specifically, it is focused on gas flows where density changes canbe significant, i.e. compressible flows. READ MORE

  5. 5. Dynamics of curved flames in compressible flows

    Author : Oleg Travnikov; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Fysik; Physics; Fysik; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Influence of flow compressibility on propagation and stability of premixed laminar flames in gaseous combustible mixtures has been investigated. A linear analysis of the intrinsic hydrodynamical instability of a planar flame front has shown that the instability growth rate is very sensitive to the compressibility effects and can increase significantly even for rather small Mach numbers of the flame generated flow.
