31. CFD Modeling of Combustion in Flexi-Fuel Burners at Gas Turbine Conditions
Abstract : The main source of energy in the nearest future will come from fossil fuels. Increasing demands on environmentally friendly energy conversion implies that pollutants, such as CO and NOx, need to be reduced. READ MORE

32. Implementation of a flexible fiber model in a general purpose CFD code
Abstract : This work is related to the process of making pulp mats for use in hygienicproducts. One part of that process is the transportation of flexiblecellulose fibers suspended in flowing air. The fibers should be evenlydistributed on the substrate, and it is thus of high importance to avoidthe formation of fiber flocks during the transportation. READ MORE

33. Fluid dynamics and flow structures of wood fibres suspended in gas flows
Abstract : The flow of wood fibres suspended in gas plays a major role in the MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) production process. Development of machinery in this industry has traditionally been based on experience. Only recently has the use of numerical methods such as CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) become an important part of the development process. READ MORE

34. CFD-based Analysis of Combustion Processes in a Free-Piston Diesel Engine
Abstract : The Free Piston Engine (FPE) which is capable of operating in a variable compression ratio mode, allows flexible auto-ignition control on a cycle-to-cycle basis without any hardware modifications. In this study combustion processes in an FPE were examined using the KIVA-3V CFD code with detailed chemical kinetics (305 reactions among 70 species) of a Diesel surrogate fuel incorporated. 35. Numerical modeling of air-fiber flows
Abstract : The dynamics of fiber suspensions are of great importance in applications such as the dry-forming process of pulp mats for use in hygiene products. In this forming process, fibers are transported in flowing air. The fibers interact with the fluid, and may interact with each other and interlock in flocs. READ MORE
