  1. 1. Morphosyntactic Corpora and Tools for Persian

    Author : Mojgan Seraji; Joakim Nivre; Carina Jahani; Jan Hajic; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Persian; language technology; corpus; treebank; preprocessing; segmentation; part-of-speech tagging; dependency parsing; Computational Linguistics; Datorlingvistik;

    Abstract : This thesis presents open source resources in the form of annotated corpora and modules for automatic morphosyntactic processing and analysis of Persian texts. More specifically, the resources consist of an improved part-of-speech tagged corpus and a dependency treebank, as well as tools for text normalization, sentence segmentation, tokenization, part-of-speech tagging, and dependency parsing for Persian. 2. 2. Computational Nonsmooth Mechanics

    Author : Peter W. Christensen; J.A.C. Martins; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns the application of modern methods from the field of mathematical programming for solving certain problems of nonsmooth mechanics. Attention is given to contact problems with friction as well as plasticity problems. READ MORE

  3. 3. Computational Terminology : Exploring Bilingual and Monolingual Term Extraction

    Author : Jody Foo; Magnus Merkel; Lars Ahrenberg; Dimitrios Kokkinakis; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; terminology; automatic term extraction; automatic term recognition; computational terminology; terminology management;

    Abstract : Terminologies are becoming more important to modern day society as technology and science continue to grow at an accelerating rate in a globalized environment. Agreeing upon which terms should be used to represent which concepts and how those terms should be translated into different languages is important if we wish to be able to communicate with as little confusion and misunderstandings as possible. 4. 4. The dynamics of beamline configurations and user communities : Quantitative studies of Big Science publications

    Author : Kristofer Rolf Söderström; digitala kulturer samt förlags- och bokmarknadskunskap Avdelningen för ABM; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; metadata; bibliometrics; beamlines; user community;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the role of beamlines with publication metadata from the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF a large scientific facility offering diverse conditions for scientific research. As a user-oriented Big Science facility, the ESRF channels extremely brilliant light into different experimental areas called beamlines that house specific instruments that cater to the needs of diverse user communities. 5. 5. Executions : Power and Expression in Networked and Computational Media

    Author : Eric Snodgrass; Susan Kozel; Wendy Hui Kyong Chun; Malmö högskola; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; execution; media studies; software studies; history of technology; computation; Media Technology; Medieteknik;

    Abstract : This research looks at questions of power and expression as they are composed in various ways within networked and computationally-informed situations of the present. Drawing from the term as it is originally invoked in practices of computing, the research puts forward execution as a central conceptual framework for its investigations. READ MORE
