11. Dimensions of Professionalism : A Study of Computer Science Teaching in Saudi Arabia
Abstract : In Saudi Arabia, new computing education programs have been introduced in alignment with the Saudi Vision 2030, which is a plan launched in 2017 to reduce Saudi Arabia's reliance on oil, diversify its economy, and develop its health, education, recreation, infrastructure and tourism. Computer science is a rapidly changing area, which places high demands on teachers in the subject to develop both their subject and pedagogical competence. READ MORE

12. Rethinking Speculative Execution from a Security Perspective
Abstract : Speculative out-of-order execution is one of the fundamental building blocks of modern, high-performance processors. To maximize the utilization of the system's resources, hardware and software security checks in the speculative domain can be temporarily ignored, without affecting the correctness of the application, as long as no architectural changes are made before transitioning to the non-speculative domain. 13. A Design Toolkit for Emerging Learning Landscapes Supported by Ubiquitous Computing
Abstract : The widespread use of mobile devices and their integration in our everyday ac- tivities is changing the way we communicate, share information, and learn. The rapid adoption of powerful mobile devices also offers new opportunities to sup- port teaching and learning. READ MORE

14. Design of Energy-Efficient High-Performance ASIP-DSP Platforms
Abstract : In the last ten years, limited clock frequency scaling and increasing power density has shifted IC design focus towards parallelism, heterogeneity and energy efficiency. Improving energy efficiency is by no means simple and it calls for a reevaluation of old design choices in processor architecture, and perhaps more importantly, development of new programming methodologies that exploit the features of modern architectures. 15. Cognition reversed : Robot learning from demonstration
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis investigates techniques for learning from demonstration (LFD). LFD is a well established approach to robot learning, where a teacher demonstrates a behavior to a robot pupil. This thesis focuses on LFD where a human teacher demonstrates a behavior by controlling the robot via teleoperation. READ MORE
