  1. 1. Enabling Multimedia Services over Wireless Multi-Hop Networks

    Author : Marcel Cavalcanti de Castro; Andreas Kassler; Torsten Braun; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Wireless Multi-hop Networks; Mobile Ad-hoc Networks; Wireless Mesh Networks; Voice over IP; Session Initiation Protocol; Peer-to-Peer Overlay Networks; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Datavetenskap; Computer Science;

    Abstract : With the constant development of wireless technologies, the usageof wireless devices tends to increase even more in the future.Wireless multi-hop networks (WMNs) have emerged as a keytechnology to numerous potential scenarios, ranging from disasterrecovery to wireless broadband internet access. 2. 2. Identity and Anonymity in Ad Hoc Networks

    Author : Leonardo Augusto Martucci; Simone Fischer-Hübner; Tuomas Aura; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; privacy; identity; anonymity; pseudonymity; Sybil attack; security; ad hoc; coputer networks; Datavetenskap; Computer Science;

    Abstract : In ad hoc networks every device is responsible for its own basic computer services, including packet routing, data forwarding, security, and privacy. Most of the protocols used in wired networks are not suitable for ad hoc networks, since they were designed for static environments with defined borders and highly specialized devices, such as routers, authentication servers, and firewalls. 3. 3. Utilizing Diversity and Performance Measures for Ensemble Creation

    Author : Tuve Löfström; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ensemble Learning; Machine Learning; Diversity; Artificial Neural Networks; Data Mining; Information Fusion; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Teknik; Technology;

    Abstract : An ensemble is a composite model, aggregating multiple base models into one predictive model. An ensemble prediction, consequently, is a function of all included base models. Both theory and a wealth of empirical studies have established that ensembles are generally more accurate than single predictive models. READ MORE

  4. 4. Large-scale simulation of neuronal systems

    Author : Mikael Djurfeldt; Örjan Ekeberg; Charles Peck; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Biologically detailed computational models of large-scale neuronal networks have now become feasible due to the development of increasingly powerful massively parallel supercomputers. We report here about the methodology involved in simulation of very large neuronal networks. READ MORE

  5. 5. Using Trees to Capture Reticulate Evolution : Lateral Gene Transfers and Cancer Progression

    Author : Ali Tofigh; Jens Lagergren; Mike Steel; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Lateral Gene Tranfer; Horizontal Gene Transfer; Cancer Progression; Bioinformatics; Bioinformatik; Computer science; Datalogi;

    Abstract : The historic relationship of species and genes are traditionally depicted using trees. However, not all evolutionary histories are adequately captured by bifurcating processes and an increasing amount of research is devoted towards using networks or network-like structures to capture evolutionary history.
