  1. 21. Improving Soft Real-time Performance of Fog Computing

    Author : Vaclav Struhar; Moris Behnam; Seyed Mohammad Hossein Ashjaei; Alessandro Papadopoulos; Silviu Craciunas; Ivona Brandic; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fog computing; real-time systems; cloud; virtualization; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Fog computing is a distributed computing paradigm that brings data processing from remote cloud data centers into the vicinity of the edge of the network. The computation is performed closer to the source of the data, and thus it decreases the time unpredictability of cloud computing that stems from (i) the computation in shared multi-tenant remote data centers, and (ii) long distance data transfers between the source of the data and the data centers. 2. 22. Security and Privacy of Sensitive Data in Cloud Computing

    Author : Ali Gholami; Erwin Laure; Seif Haridi; Schahram Dustdar; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cloud Computing; Security; Privacy; Trust; Opertaing System; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Abstract : Cloud computing offers the prospect of on-demand, elastic computing, provided as a utility service, and it is revolutionizing many domains of computing. Compared with earlier methods of processing data, cloud computing environments provide significant benefits, such as the availability of automated tools to assemble, connect, configure and reconfigure virtualized resources on demand. 3. 23. Parallel Data Streaming Analytics in the Context of Internet of Things

    Author : Hannaneh Najdataei; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; clustering; stream continuous data processing; edge computing; Internet of Things; parallelism; elasticity; data analysis; fog computing; scalability;

    Abstract : We are living in an increasingly connected world, where the ubiquitously sensing technologies enable inter-connection of physical objects, as part of Internet of Things (IoT), and provide continuous massive amount of data. As this growth soars, benefits and challenges come together, which requires development of right tools in order to extract valuable information from data. READ MORE

  5. 25. Reflection Principles in Computational Logic

    Author : Pierangelo Dell'Acqua; Jonas Barklund; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Datalogi; Computing Science;

    Abstract : We introduce the concept of reflection principles as a knowledge representation paradigm in a computational logic setting. Reflection principles are expressed as certain kinds of logic schemata intended to capture the basic properties of the domain knowledge to be modelled. READ MORE
