  1. 6. Simulation of welding and heat treatment : modelling and validation

    Author : Henrik Alberg; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Datorstödd maskinkonstruktion; Computer Aided Design;

    Abstract : Many aerospace components with complex geometry are fabricated from smaller parts using joining techniques such as welding. Welding and the heat treatment which usually follows, can result in unwanted deformation and stresses. READ MORE

  2. 7. Hydro-mechanical forming of aluminium tubes : on constitutive modelling and process design

    Author : Mikael Jansson; Larsgunnar Nilsson; Odd Sture Hopperstad; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hydroforming; Aluminium Extrusions; Anisotropic material; Solid mechanics; Fastkroppsmekanik;

    Abstract : Tube hydroforming is a forming method which has several advantages. By using pressure in combination with material feeding it is possible to manufacture products with high structural integration and tight dimensional tolerances. The forming method is especially suited for aluminium alloys which have a relatively low ductility. READ MORE

  5. 10. On modelling of slope stability in sensitive clay

    Author : Carolina Sellin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; constitutive modelling; mobilisation of shear strength; destructuration; slope stability; anisotropy; sensitive clay; rate dependence;

    Abstract : The stability of natural slopes is a global problem, with the number of landslides and the associated socioeconomic losses increasing, as a result of the global trend of urbanisation, deforestation and changed weather patterns. The available methods for identifying potential failure modes and assessing the stability, however, overly simplify the modelled soil behaviour within a slope, which might lead to unnecessary mitigation measures or non-conservative results.
