  1. 1. Voltage sag ride-through of AC drives : control and analysis

    Author : Kai Pietiläinen; Hans-Peter Nee; Olli Pyrhönen; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electronic measurement and instrumentation; Elektronisk mät- och apparatteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on controller design and analysis for induction motor (IM) drives, flux control for electrically excited synchronous motors with damper windings (EESMs), and to enhance voltage sag ride-through ability and analysis for a wind turbine application with a full-power grid-connected active rectifier. The goal is to be able to use the existing equipment, without altering the hardware. READ MORE

  2. 2. On Fault Detection, Diagnosis and Monitoring for Induction Motors

    Author : Mohammed Obaid Mustafa; Mohamed El Hachemi Benbouzid; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Model based fault detection and diagnosis; Model free fault detection; Set Membership Identification SMI ; Uncertainty Bounds Violation Method; Model based Support Vector Classification; Linear and Nonlinear Classification; Minimum Volume Ellipsoid method; Broken Rotor Bars; Faults of Induction Motors; Three phase induction motor; Reglerteknik; Control Engineering;

    Abstract : In this thesis, multiple methods and different approaches have been established and evaluated successfully, in order to detect and diagnose the faults of induction motors (IMs). The aim of this thesis is to present novel fault detection and isolation methods for the case of induction machines that would have the merit to be implemented online and being characterized by specific novel capabilities, when compared with the existing techniques. 3. 3. Design, Modelling and Control of Electrical Machines - With Applications to Iron-powder Machines and Acoustic Noise

    Author : David Martinez; Industriell elektroteknik och automation; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; BEM; induction machine; noise prediction; vector control; acoustic noise; HEV; series magnetization; leakage reduction; thermal model; FEM; MEC; claw-poles; SMC; slip-ring-less machine; sound intensity measurements; vibration; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of two parts, the first dealing with the design of iron-powder synchronous machines, and the second with the analysis and prediction of the acoustic noise in electrical machines. In Part I, a 1.6 kW electrically magnetized claw-pole machine with magnetically conducting end-plates has been analyzed and a prototype tested. READ MORE

  4. 4. Electrical Machine Development : a study of four different machine types from Swedish perspective

    Author : Sture Eriksson; Chandur Sadarangani; Konrad Reichert; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electronic measurement and instrumentation; Elektronisk mät- och apparatteknik;

    Abstract : Development and manufacturing of rotating electrical machines have been essential for the Swedish society and industry for more than a century. The dominating manufacturer has been Asea/ABB, even if a more diversified structure has emerged in recent years. READ MORE

  5. 5. Robust Control of an Induction Motor Drive

    Author : Henrik Mosskull; Bo Wahlberg; Marian Kazmiekowski; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis considers robust control of an induction motor drive, consisting of an input filter, a voltage source inverter and one or several induction motors in parallel. The motor torque is here controlled by using the method Indirect Self Control (ISC), and power oscillations between the inverter and the input filter are damped by means of a stabilization controller in an outer feedback loop.
