  1. 21. Control, Modulation and Implementation of Modular Multilevel Converters

    Author : Antonios Antonopoulos; Hans-Peter Nee; Colin Oates; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Modular Multilevel Converter; Modulation; Feedback Control; Open-Loop Control; Implementation; Prototype; High-Performance Motor Drives; Electrical engineering; electronics and photonics; Elektroteknik; elektronik och fotonik;

    Abstract : Denna avhandling behandlar analys och styrning av den modulära multinivå omvandlaren (M2C). M2C är en lovande omvandlarteknologi för högspända högeffekttillämpningar. Anledningen till detta är låg distorsion i utstorheterna kan uppnås med låg  medelswitchfrekvens per switch och utan utgångsfilter. READ MORE

    Author : Naveed ur Rehman Malik; Chandur Sadarangani; Luca Peretti; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Doubly-fed induction generator; extended vector control; induction machine; internal model control; Lindmark concept; low voltage ride through; passive resistive network; rotating power electronic converter; rotating exciter; symmetrical faults; synchronous machine; unity power factor; unsymmetrical faults; vector control; wind turbines.; Järnvägsgruppen - Elsystem; Järnvägsgruppen - Elsystem;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the steady-state, dynamic and control aspects of new type of brushless configuration of a doubly-fed induction machine in which the slip rings and carbon brushes are replaced by rotating power electronics and a rotating exciter. The aim is to study the stability of this novel configuration of the generator under mechanical and grid disturbances for wind power applications. READ MORE

  3. 23. Modelling and Advanced Control of Fully Coupled Wave Energy Converters Subject to Constraints: the Wave-to-wire Approach

    Author : Liguo Wang; Jan Isberg; Jørgen Hals Todalshaug; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Ocean wave energy; marine energy converter; wave energy converter; wave energy farm; potential flow theory; linear permanent magnet generator; control strategy; wave-to-wire approach; physical constraints; power generation control.; Engineering Science with specialization in Science of Electricity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektricitetslära;

    Abstract : Ocean wave energy is a promising renewable source to contribute to supplying the world’s energy demand. The Division of Electricity at Uppsala University is developing a technology to capture energy from ocean waves with a wave energy converter (WEC) consisting of a linear permanent magnet generator and a point absorber. 4. 24. Modeling and Model-based Control of Automotive Air Paths

    Author : Robin Holmbom; Lars Eriksson; Daniel Jung; Christopher Onder; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The strive towards cleaner and more efficient combustion engines, driven by legislation and cost, introduces new configurations, as exhaust gas recirculation, turbocharging, and variable valve timing, to name a few. Beside all the positive effects on the emissions and fuel consumption, they all affect the air-charge system, which increases the cross-couplings within the air-path control, making it an even more complex system to control. Author : Naveed ur Rehman Malik; Chandur Sadarangani; Torbjörn Thiringer; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Brushless doubly-fed induction generator; dual vector control; dynamic model; induction machine; internal model control; Lindmark concept; low-voltage ride-through; passive resistive network; rotating power electronic converter; rotating exciter; symmetrical faults; synchronous machine; thermal model; unity power factor; unsymmetrical faults; vector control; wind turbines.; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the modeling, analysis and control of a novel brushlessgenerator for wind power application. The generator is named as rotatingpower electronic brushless doubly-fed induction machine/generator (RPEBDFIM/G).A great advantage of the RPE-BDFIG is that the slip power recoveryis realized in a brushless manner.
