  1. 16. Modelling Life Cycle Cost for Indoor Climate Systems

    Author : Dennis Johansson; Institutionen för bygg- och miljöteknologi; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HVAC; life cycle cost; energy; Energy research; Energiforskning; Byggnadsteknik; Building construction; indoor climate system; ventilation; maintenance; LCC;

    Abstract : The indoor climate system, which serves a building with a proper indoor air quality and thermal comfort, has been predominantly designed based on the initial cost. A life cycle approach could improve both the economic and environmental performance since the energy use could decrease. READ MORE

  2. 17. The air distribution in buildings with combined natural and mechanical ventilation

    Author : Gunnar Åhlander; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This work describes result from both measurements on anumber of one family houses, an analytical study of a one-zonemodel and multi zone studies of a two storey building. Thesimulations are performed as both parametric studies, withcombined values of outside temperature, wind velocity and winddirection, and whole year simulations. READ MORE

  3. 18. Quality Aspects of Modified Atmosphere Packaged Broccoli

    Author : Annelie Jacobsson; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Livsmedelsteknik; Food and drink technology; heat transfer; mass transport; quality; flavour; aroma; modified atmosphere packaging; broccoli;

    Abstract : The modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) of vegetables is used with the aim of prolonging the shelf-life of the packaged produce. The packaging material consists of a permeable film and as a result of the respiration of the produce and gas diffusion through the film, the O2 decreases and the CO2 increases inside the package. 4. 19. Adapting Variable Air Volume (VAV) Systems for Office Buildings without Active Control Dampers

    Author : Mari-Liis Maripuu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; climate control; CAV; variable supply air diffuser; ventilation; VAV; energy efficiency;

    Abstract : In commercial buildings the building services systems may account for a substantial part of the need of energy. There is, at least in Sweden, a large existing stock of 20 to 30 year old office buildings, which are supplied with centralised constant air volume flow (CAV) air conditioning systems with the primary function to keep the room temperature at an acceptable level summertime. 5. 20. Experimental and numerical investigations of a ventilation strategy – impinging jet ventilation for an office environment

    Author : Huijuan Chen; Bahram Moshfegh; Mathias Cehlin; Darren Robinson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Impinging jet ventilation; room air distribution; thermal comfort; ventilation performance; turbulence modelling; CFD;

    Abstract : A well-functioning, energy-efficient ventilation system is of vital importance to offices, not only to provide the kind of comfortable, healthy indoor environment necessary for the well-being and productive work performance of occupants, but also to reduce energy use in buildings and the associated impact of CO2 emissions on the environment. To achieve these goals impinging jet ventilation has been developed as an innovative ventilation concept. READ MORE
