1. Multi-Electron Coincidence Studies of Atoms and Molecules
Abstract : This thesis concerns multi-ionization coincidence measurements of atoms and small molecules using a magnetic bottle time-of-flight (TOF) spectrometer designed for multi-electron coincidence studies. Also, a time-of-flight mass spectrometer has been used together with the TOF electron spectrometer for electron-ion coincidence measurements. READ MORE

2. Structure and Dynamics of Core-Excited Species
Abstract : In this thesis we have performed core-electron spectroscopy studies of gas phase molecular systems starting with smaller diatomic, continuing with triatomic and extending our research to more complex polyatomic ones. We can subdivide the results presented here into two categories: the first one focusing on electronic fine structure and effect of the chemical bonds on molecular core-levels and the other one dealing with nuclear dynamics induced by creation of a core hole. 3. Quantum mechanical studies of ionization and electron transfer in diatomic systems : O2 and H+ + H-
Abstract : The present thesis is based upon two papers concerning the core-valence double onization of molecular oxygen and mutual neutralization of H+ and H- ions at low collision energies. The former of these processes has been studied for the first time using a magnetic bottle time-of-ight electron coincidence spectrometer in combination with ab initio electronic structure calculations. 4. Studies of Single and Multiple Ionization Processes in Rare Gases and some Small Molecules
Abstract : In this thesis various aspects of photoionization are investigated with respect to both single and multiple electron emission from atoms and molecules. The studies include both valence and core levels and involve transitions which leave the atoms or molecules in various charge states. READ MORE

5. Computational studies of core level XPS satellites in transition metal systems : Department of Quantum Chemistry, Uppsala University
Abstract : Upon core ionization of a free molecule or a molecule adsorbed on a metal surface, higher binding energy satellites are observed, so called "shake-up" satellites, which can be viewed as valence excitations simultaneously to the creation of the core hole. In this thesis, theoretical studies of such core level XPS satellites in transition metal systems are presented, as well as cluster calculations of XES spectra, using the quantum mechanical INDO method.
