6. Investigations intothe crystallization of butyl paraben
Abstract : In thisproject, solubility of butyl paraben in 7 puresolvents and 5 ethanol aqueous solvents has been determined at from 1 ℃to 50 ℃. Thermodynamic properties of butyl paraben have been measured by DifferentialScanning Calorimetey. READ MORE

7. Local variation in bending stiffness in structural timber of Norway spruce : for the purpose of strength grading
Abstract : Most strength grading machines on the European market use an averagemodulus of elasticity (MOE), estimated on a relatively large distance along awood member, as the indicating property (IP) to bending strength. Theaccuracy of such grading machines in terms of coefficient of determination israther low at R2 ≈ 0.5. READ MORE

8. Omics Data Analysis of Complex Diseases and Traits
Abstract : Following the advent of the high-throughput techniques for producing massive omics data, new possibilities and challenges have also emerged in different fields of biology and medicine. Dealing with such data on different scales with different scopes such as genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics, demands appropriate data collection, preprocessing, statistical analysis, interpretation and visualization. 9. Some Aspects on Confirmatory Factor Analysis of Ordinal Variables and Generating Non-normal Data
Abstract : This thesis, which consists of five papers, is concerned with various aspects of confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) of ordinal variables and the generation of non-normal data. The first paper studies the performances of different estimation methods used in CFA when ordinal data are encountered. READ MORE

10. Quantitative methods for diffusion measurements in fluorescence microscopy
Abstract : In this work, statistical methods are developed for mapping mass transport locally based on images collected using a confocal laser scanning microscope. Besides presenting raster image correlation spectroscopy as an established method in fluorescence microscopy, we introduce a single particle tracking method which takes advantage of the raster scanning of the image in a confocal microscope.
