  1. 16. Orthopaedic measurements with computed radiography. Methodological development, accuracy, and radiation dose with special reference to the weight-bearing lower extremity and the dislocating patella

    Author : Jan Sanfridsson; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Clinical physics; digital.; computer-assisted; Picture Archiving and Communication Systems; computed radiography; radiography; effective dose; radiation dosage; measurements; biomechanics; dislocating patella; musculoskeletal; patellofemoral joint; Knee joint; radiology; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Abstract : The overall aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a measurement system for computed radiography (CR) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), permitting measurements of long distances and angles in and between related images. The developed measurement system, which was based on the QUESTOR Precision Radiography (QPR) system, was applied to the weight-bearing knee with special reference to the dislocating patella. 2. 17. Energy efficiency in the sodium chlorate process: From electrocatalysis to pilot plant investigations

    Author : Kristoffer Hedenstedt; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sodium chlorate; corrosion; mild steel; goethite; lepidocrocite; green rust; hypochlorite reduction; hydrogen evolution; in situ electrochemical Raman spectroscopy;

    Abstract : Sodium chlorate is an important industrial chemical produced through an electrochemical manufacturing process. The global production rate is 3.6 million tons annually and consumes approximately 20 TWh of electrical power. The majority of the produced sodium chlorate is used as raw material to make chlorine dioxide for the bleaching of kraft pulp. READ MORE

  3. 18. Stacking fault energy and deformation behaviour of austenitic stainless steels: a joint theoretical-experimental study

    Author : Dávid Sándor Molnár; Levente Vitos; Göran Engberg; Guocai Chai; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; austenitic stainless steel; deformation properties; stacking fault energy; electron backscatter diffraction; ab initio; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering; Steel Forming and Surface Engineering;

    Abstract : Austenitiska rostfria stål är främst kända för sin exceptionella korrosionsbeständighet. De har en ytcentrerad kubisk (FCC) struktur som stabiliseras genom att nickel, mangan eller kväve tillsätts till Fe-Cr legeringen. Fe-Cr-Ni-systemet kan utökas ytterligare genom tillsats av andra element såsom Mo, Cu, Ti, C, etc. READ MORE

  4. 19. Group A Streptococci; Epidemiology and Genetics of Antibiotic Resistance

    Author : Aftab Jasir; Avdelningen för medicinsk mikrobiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Microbiology; typing; epidemiology; M protein; emm gene; erythromycin; tetracycline; macrolides; streptococci; antibiotics; mykologi; virologi; bakteriologi; Mikrobiologi; mycology; virology; bacteriology;

    Abstract : Group A streptococci (GAS) cause throat and skin infections, severe invasive diseases as well as the non-suppurative complications acute rheumatic fever and glomerulonephritis. GAS have retained susceptibility to betalactam drugs, but resistance to alternative antibiotics is of concern. READ MORE

  5. 20. Colour Reconnection and Weak Showers

    Author : Jesper Roy Christiansen; Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Merging; Weak interactions; Parton Showers; Event generators; hadron collisions; Colour Reconnection; Fragmentation; Fysicumarkivet A:2015:Christiansen;

    Abstract : This thesis consider the improvement of the simulation tools used to describe high energy particle collisions. These simulation programs are normally referred to as event generators. READ MORE
