  1. 1. Asymmetric Catalysis : Ligand Design and Conformational Studies

    Author : Kristina Hallman; KTH; []
    Keywords : asymmetric catalysis; chiral ligand; oxazolines; conformational study; allylic substitution; polymer-bound ligands; dendritic ligands; crown ether; oxidations; palladacycle;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the design of ligands for efficientasymmetric catalysis and studies of the conformation of theligands in the catalytically active complexes. All ligandsdeveloped contain chiral oxazoline heterocycles. READ MORE

  2. 2. Chiral Pyridine-Containing Ligands for Asymmetric Catalysis. Synthesis and Applications

    Author : Fredrik Rahm; KTH; []
    Keywords : asymmetric catalysis; chiral ligand; chiral pool; oxazoline; crown ether; ditopic receptor; bipyridine; pyridyl alcohol; modular approach; P; N-ligand; diethylzinc; allylic alkylation;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the design and syntheses of chiral,enantiopure pyridinecontaining ligands and their applicationsin asymmetric catalyis.Chiral pyridyl pyrrolidine ligands and pyridyl oxazolineligands were synthesized and employed in thepalladium-catalysed allylic alkylation of 1,3-diphenyl-2-propenyl acetate with dimethyl malonate. 3. 3. Towards the Rational Design of Molecularly Imprinted Polymers

    Author : Håkan S Andersson; Ann-Christin Koch-Schmidt; Ian A Nicholls; Klaus Mosbach; Richard F Venn; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Thermodynamics; Molecular Recognition; Polyvalency; Cooperativity; Electrostatic Interactions; Hydrophobic Effect; Chromatography; Frontal Analysis; HPLC; Spectroscopy; Molecularly Imprinted Polymer; Molecular Imprinting; Crown Ether; Template Polymerisation; Cyclodextrin; Biochemistry; Metabolism; Biokemi; Biotechnology; Bioteknik; molecular recognition; Biokemi;

    Abstract : Molecular imprinting is a technique by which polymeric materials selective for a given target molecule can be created through a casting procedure. Functionalised monomers are added to a solution of molecular templates. READ MORE

  4. 4. Synthesis and Rearrangement of Epoxy Sugars

    Author : Fritiof Pontén; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organisk kemi; Organic chemistry; crown ether; silica; Intramoleculaf Diels-Alder reaction; radical allylation; allyl sulfone; sugar epoxide; allyl sulfide; ring-contraction; C-glycoside; a; IMDAF; b-unsaturated aldehyde;

    Abstract : Ring-Contraction of sugar-derived epoxy alcohols, functionalised in position 1 and 6, by treatment with lithium bromide and N, N, N', N'-tetramethylurea in refluxing toluene gave enantiomerically pure a,b-unsaturated aldehydes of furanosides. O-Glycosidic epoxy alcohols gave only one, easily purified, aldehyde in approximately 30-60% yield depending on the substitution pattern. READ MORE

  5. 5. Synthesis and Energy Transfer Studies of a Donor-Host-Acceptor Triad

    Author : Jerker Mårtensson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; orientation factor; self-assembly; porphyrin; cations; F #246; rster; dimer; donor-host-acceptor triad; energy transfer; degenerate transition; diaza-crown ether;

    Abstract : This dissertation describes the synthesis of a donor-host-acceptor triad, D-H-A, and its self-assembly into a well-ordered dimer. The energy transfer (EnT) properties of D-H-A as it is, in the presence of a variety of guest molecules and in the dimeric form are presented. READ MORE
