  1. 1. From Current Collectors to Electrodes : Aluminium Rod Structures for Three-dimensional Li-ion Micro-battery Applications

    Author : Gabriel Oltean; Kristina Edström; Leif Nyholm; Erik Kelder; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; 3D micro-batteries; aluminium; titanium oxide; current collectros; negative electrodes; electrodepostion; electrophoretic depostion; sol-gel synthesis;

    Abstract : The potential use of 3D aluminium nanorod structures as current collectors and negative electrodes for 3D Li-ion micro-batteries was studied based on the use of relatively simple and cost-effective electrochemical and sol-gel deposition techniques.Aluminium rod structures were synthesised by galvanostatic electrodeposition using commercial porous membranes as templates. 2. 2. Pulse and hold switching current readout of superconducting quantum circuits

    Author : Jochen Walter; David Haviland; Hans Mooij; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Josephson junction; readout; qubit; detector; frequency dependent damping; quantronium; phase-space; correlation analysis; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : Josephson junction qubits are promising candidates for a scalable quantum processor. Such qubits are commonly manipulated by means of sequences of rf-pulses and different methods are used to determine their quantum state. READ MORE

  3. 3. Capacitive Biosensor - A Tool for Ultrasensitive Analysis : Application in Clinical Analysis and Process Monitoring

    Author : Kosin Teeparuksapun; Bioteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Capacitive Biosensor; Ultrasensitive Analysis; Clinical Analysis; Bioprocess Monitoring; Human Serum Albumin; HIV-1 p24; Host Cell Proteins; Protein A; Current Pulse;

    Abstract : Increasing demands for highly sensitive, accurate, fast and portable analytical assays have led to the development of new analytical tools. The integration of highly specific biological sensing elements and appropriate transducers has enabled design of even more efficient biosensor devices for the detection of target substances. 4. 4. Device Technology Based on High Temperature Superconductors and Microwave Breakdown in Gases

    Author : Martin Löfgren; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; distortion; penetration depth; surface resistance; transmit-receive switch; coupled-grain model; high-power; microwave; pulse; surface impedance; breakdown; propagation; modulator; air; superconductor; transmission line; resonator; coplanar waveguide; plasma;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with two separate fields of microwave technology. The first section treats microwave characterization and applications of high temperature superconducting (HTS) thin films, while the second section treats microwave breakdown in transmit-receive (TR) switches and in air. Within the first section, four main topics are adressed. READ MORE

  5. 5. Pulse Shape Adaptation and Channel Estimation in Generalised Frequency Division Multiplexing Systems
