  1. 1. From endothelial cells to the vascular network : How cell migration and proliferation are orchestrated to build lymphatic vessels

    Author : Di Peng; Katarzyna Koltowska; Vermot Julien; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Lymphangiogenesis; Cell migration; Zebrafish; Biologi med inriktning mot zoologisk utvecklingsbiologi; Biology with specialization in Animal Development;

    Abstract : Lymphatic endothelial cells (LECs) migrate across body to form a branched network, which is crucial for fluid drainage and immune cell trafficking of the tissues. However, the molecular mechanisms behind the spatiotemporal regulation and fine-tuning of LEC migration remain largely unknown. READ MORE

  2. 2. Epigenetics in nasopharyngeal carcinoma

    Author : Di Sun; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : NPC; Methylation; TSG; EBV; LMP1; CDH13; RASSF2A; MMSP;

    Abstract : Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) shows a remarkably distinctive ethnic and geographic distribution among the world suggesting that genetic susceptibility backgrounds cooperate with the environmental risk factors in etiology of NPCs. Among the environmental factors, much attention has been focused on a well-documented association with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), which can be detected in 100% undifferentiated NPCs. READ MORE

  3. 3. Ion channels and intrinsic membrane properties of locomotor network neurons in the lamprey spinal cord

    Author : Di Wang; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Ion channels; calcium activated non-selective cation current ICAN ; L-type LVA calcium channels Cav 1.3 ; calcium channels; calcium imaging; NMDA; postinhibitory rebound PIR ; lamprey; central pattern generator CPG ; locomotion;

    Abstract : NMDA-receptor dependent membrane potential oscillations and postinhibitory rebound are examples of intrinsic membrane properties of many neurons of rhythm-generating networks, and are considered to play major roles in the operation of the spinal locomotor network of the lamprey vertebrate model. A significant feature of many lamprey spinal cord neurons is their ability to generate pacemaker-like membrane potential oscillations in the presence of the glutamate agonist NMDA. READ MORE

  4. 4. Proximity Ligation and Barcoding Assays : Tools for analysis of proteins and protein complexes

    Author : Di Wu; Masood Kamali-Moghaddam; Ulf Landegren; Ola Söderberg; Jörg Hoheisel; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; proximity ligation assay; proximity barcoding assay; sensitive; in situ; multiplex; profiling; amyloid-beta; MARK; tau; CSF; biomarker; protein complexes; Alzheimer’s disease; amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; Molekylär medicin; Molecular Medicine;

    Abstract : Proteins are fundamental structural, enzymatic and regulatory components of cells. Analysis of proteins, such as by measuring their concentrations, characterizing their modifications, and detecting their interactions, provides insights in how biological systems work physiologically or pathologically at the molecular level. 5. 5. Transport, Turbulence and Instabilities in Cosmic Magnetic Fields

    Author : Giuseppe Di Bernardo; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cosmic Rays; Interstella Medium; Galactic Magnetic Fields; Magnetohydrodynamics Turbulence; Accretion Discs;

    Abstract : This decade has seen a large number of space missions, which, alongside ground-based radio, optical and gamma-ray telescopes, have enabled a deep insight into the non-thermal astrophysical environments. Interstellar Medium (ISM), Supernovae Remnants (SNRs) and Black-Hole (BH) accretion discs (ADs) are only a few examples of natural habitat of interaction of relativistic particles and magnetic fields, largely mediated by the action of the turbulence.
