1. CT colonography. Technique, diagnostic accuracy and patient acceptance
Abstract : The aim was to evaluate diagnostic potential, technical performance, and patient acceptance of CT colonography when used for detection of colorectal polyps and cancer in symptomatic patients with a high risk of colorectal neoplasia. Methods: After bowel preparation, 111 symptomatic patients underwent CT colonography followed by conventional colonoscopy. 2. Aspects of PET-CT in prostate cancer. Protocol optimization, diagnostic accuracy, and dosimetry
Abstract : The PET-CT imaging modality is based on positron emission tomography combined with computed tomography. Before a PET-CT examination, a radioactive tracer (also called a radiopharmaceutical) is intravenously injected into the patient. PET technology images the distribution of this tracer element by detecting the decay. READ MORE

3. Fetal Anomalies : Surveillance and Diagnostic Accuracy of Ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Abstract : The aims were to investigate the accuracy of ultrasound in diagnosis of structural fetal anomalies with special focus on false positive findings (I), to evaluate the additional value of second trimester fetal MRI on pregnancy management (II-III) and to estimate the ascertainment in the Swedish Birth Defects Registry and incidence of spina bifida and cleft lip/palate (IV). Retrospectively, 328 fetal autopsies were identified where pregnancies were terminated due to ultrasonographically diagnosed fetal anomalies. READ MORE

4. Computer-Assisted Diagnosis for the Interpretation of Bone Scintigraphy. A new approach to improve diagnostic accuracy
Abstract : The most common cancers in the western countries are breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men, and these cancer types, together with lung cancer, often metastasise to the skeleton. Bone scan is used to determine whether metastases are present, and the result of the examination serves as a guide in the choice of treatment strategy. READ MORE

5. Evaluation of image quality and diagnostic accuracy in breast tomosynthesis. Comparison with digital mammography and estimates of radiation risk
Abstract : Recent advances in the digital detector technology have paved the way for modalities such as two-dimensional digital mammography (DM) and three-dimensional breast tomosynthesis (BT). In this work, experimental studies were conducted to investigate the influence of reducing the average glandular dose (AGD) on detection of simulated lesions in DM and to compare the diagnostic accuracy of BT and DM.
