  1. 1. NA transmembrane domain : Amphiphilic drift to accommodate two functions

    Author : Johan Nordholm; Robert Daniels; Ervin Fodor; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; influenza; IAV; neuraminidase; NA; transmembrane domain; TMD; secretory protein; ER-targeting sequence; ER-targeting sequence coding region; protein regulation; NS1; GALLEX; Biochemistry; biokemi;

    Abstract : Neuraminidase (NA) is one of two major antigens on the surface of influenza A viruses. It is comprised of a single N-terminal transmembrane domain (TMD), a stalk domain, and a C-terminal enzymatic head domain that cleaves sialic acid, most notably to release new particles from the host cell surface. 2. 2. Modelling of Dislocation Bias in FCC Materials

    Author : Zhongwen Chang; Pär Olsson; Christophe Domain; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Irradiation induced void swelling is problematic for the application of austenitic steels under high dose irradiation. In this thesis, the swelling is characterized by dislocation bias. The dislocation bias is obtained using the finite element method, accounting for fcc copper and nickel under electron irradiation. 3. 3. Simulation of radiation damage in Fe and Fe-Cr

    Author : Christina Lagerstedt; Jan Wallenius; Cristophe Domain; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : Steel is an important structural material in nuclear reactors used for example in pressure vessels and fast reactor cladding. In reactor environments it has been observed that ferritic steels are more resistant to swelling than the austenitic steels typically used. READ MORE

  4. 4. Frequency Domain Identification of Continuous-Time Systems : Reconstruction and Robustness

    Author : Jonas Gillberg; Lennart Ljung; Fredrik Gustafsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Discrete-time domain; Frequency-domain identification; Signal processing; Frequency-domain; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Approaching parameter estimation from the discrete-time domain is the dominating paradigm in system identification. Identification of continuous-time models on the other hand is motivated by the fact that modelling of physical systems often take place in continuous-time. READ MORE

  5. 5. Influenza neuraminidase assembly : Evolution of domain cooperativity

    Author : Diogo da Silveira Vieira da Silva; Robert Daniels; Ron Fouchier; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Influenza; neuraminidase; assembly; transmembrane domain; evolution; Biochemistry; biokemi;

    Abstract : Influenza A virus (IAV) is one of the most common viruses circulating in the human population and is responsible for seasonal epidemics that affect millions of individuals worldwide. The need to develop new drugs and vaccines against IAVs led scientists to study the main IAV surface antigens hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA). READ MORE
