  1. 1. Solute exhange across the alveolo-capillary barrier

    Author : Kristina Nilsson; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; tomography; radiology; Clinical physics; pulmonary oedema.; nuclear medicine; smoking; permeability; rabbit; DTPA; Pulmonary surfactants; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to study the transfer of solutes across the alveolo-capillary barrier in experimental models of alveolar surfactant dysfunction and lung injury as well as in smokers. Experimental studies were performed in anaesthetized, and mechanically ventilated animals. READ MORE

  3. 3. Therapy with 177Lu-octreotate - pharmacokinetics, dosimetry and kidney toxicity

    Author : Maria Larsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; PRRT; 177Lu-octreotate; 111In-octreotide; dosimetry; biokinetics; scintigraphy; conjugate view method; renal function; renal toxicity; lysine; DMSA; 99mTc-DTPA; 99mTc-DMSA;

    Abstract : 177Lu-octreotate is used for treatment of patients with somatostatin receptor expressing neuroendocrine tumors in some clinics using a standard schedule. Renal and bone marrow toxicity are the main limiting factors. READ MORE

  4. 4. Fundamental Characterization and Technical Aspects of a Chelating Surfactant

    Author : Ida Svanedal; Håkan Edlund; Magnus Norgren; Krister Holmberg; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; chelating surfactant; DTPA based surfactant; pH-responsive; characterization; surface tension; NMR diffusometry; conditional stability constants; interaction parameter; ion flotation;

    Abstract : The purpose of this study was to investigate the fundamental characteristics of a chelating surfactant in terms of solution behaviour, chelation of divalent metal ions, and interaction in mixtures with different foaming agents and divalent metal ion, as well as examining its prospects in some practical applications. Chelating surfactants are functional molecules, with both surface active and chelating properties, which are water soluble and therefore suitable for chelation in many aqueous environments. 5. 5. Electropermeabilization in Experimental Tumour Treatment: Dosimetry and Tissue Effects

    Author : Per Engström; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; liver; electroporation; ischemia; Electropermeabilization; ECT; Tumor; 111-In-BLMC; 99m-Tc-DTPA; glioma; rat; electric pulses; Impedance spectrometry; treatment; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : Short, electric high-voltage pulses can be used to transiently increase the permeability of cell membranes without significant loss of cell viability. During this period of time, extracellular and normally non-permeant, molecules are accessed the cytoplasm and the cell nucleus. READ MORE
