  1. 21. Background aEEG/EEG measures in very preterm infants : Relation to physiology and outcome

    Author : Sverre Wikström; Lena Hellström-Westas; Ingmar Rosén; Andrew Whitelaw; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Electroencephalography; brain damage; prediction; interburst interval; Neurodevelopmental impairment; Paediatric medicine; Pediatrisk medicin;

    Abstract : The overall aim of this thesis was to characterize single-channel aEEG/EEG, recorded during the first postnatal days in preterm infants, in relation to brain function and two-year outcome. Study I investigated if aEEG/EEG was associated with neonatal brain injury, inflammation and outcome in 16 very preterm (VPT) infants. READ MORE

  2. 22. The RNA exosome and the maintenance of genome integrity

    Author : Judit Domingo Prim; Neus Visa; Andrés Aguilera; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; EXOSC10; RRP6; DNA damage; diRNA; DDRNA; DNA end resection; homologous recombination; molekylär biovetenskap; Molecular Bioscience;

    Abstract : The RNA exosome is a ribonucleolytic complex that acts on different RNA substrates and plays important roles in RNA metabolism. In recent years, the synthesis and the processing of RNA have been directly linked to the integrity of the genome. READ MORE

  3. 23. Modeling and Analysis of PMSM with Turn-To-Turn Fault

    Author : Joachim Härsjö; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electromagnetic forces; vibration.; inter-turn; fault; fault detection; turn-to-turn fault; Permanent magnet synchronous machine PMSM modeling;

    Abstract : Thanks to its high-torque density and high efficiency, the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM) is today used in a vast range of applications, spanning from automotive to wind. Since in a PMSM the excitation field is provided by a permanent magnet instead of a coil, this machine does not have a rotor circuit and thereby the risk for electrical failures can be isolated on the stator circuit. 4. 24. Modeling of PMSM Full Power Converter Wind Turbine with Turn-To-Turn Fault

    Author : Joachim Härsjö; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; turn-to-turn; full power converter wind turbine; permanent magnet synchronous machine PMSM modeling; fault detection.; fault; Wind turbine modeling; Wind energy;

    Abstract : Over the past several years the number of renewable energy installations has shown a strong increase rate. Due to the ambition to close down fossil and nuclear power plants, this rate of increase is not expected to decline during the coming decades. In particular, wind energy represents one of the most dominant renewable energy sources. READ MORE

  5. 25. Role of Non-Homologous End-Joining in Repair of Radiation-Induced DNA Double-Strand Breaks

    Author : Karin Karlsson; Bo Stenerlöw; Jörgen Carlsson; Thomas Helleday; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Molecular biology; DNA damage; DNA repair; DSB; NHEJ; DNA-PK; ionising radiation; high-LET; heat-labile sites; PFGE; Molekylärbiologi;

    Abstract : Efficient and correct repair of DNA damage, especially DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs), is vital for the survival of individual cells and organisms. Defects in the DNA repair may lead to cell death or genomic instability and development of cancer. READ MORE
