  1. 16. The Robustness and Energy Evaluation of a Linear Quadratic Regulator for a Rehabilitation Hip Exoskeleton

    Author : Rabé Andersson; Niclas Björsell; Daniel Rönnow; Gianni Borghesan; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hip Rehabilitation Exoskeleton; Robust Controller; Energy Consumption; Series Elastic Actuator SEA ; LQR Control; Luenberger State Observer; Torque Control; Höftexoskelett för rehabilitering; Robust reglering; Energiförbrukning; serieelastiskt manöverdon SEA ; LQR reglering; Luenberger State Obser-ver; Moment reglering;

    Abstract : The implications of gait disorder, muscle weakness, and spinal cord injuries for work and age-related mobility degradation have increased the need for rehabilitation exoskeletons. Specifically, the hip rehabilitation exoskeletons due to a high percentage of the mechanical power is generated by this join during the gait cycle. READ MORE

  2. 17. Human-structure interaction effect on the dynamic response of footbridges : An analytical and experimental study

    Author : Daniel Colmenares; Raid Karoumi; Andreas Andersson; Federica Tubino; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; footbridges; dynamics; human induced loads; human structure interaction.; Bro- och stålbyggnad; Structural Engineering and Bridges;

    Abstract : Lightweight, slender and lightly damped footbridges are often susceptible to HumanInduced Loads (HILs) when pedestrian step frequencies coincide with the naturalfrequencies of the structure. For vertical vibrations, this can compromise the serviceabilitylimit state of the system. READ MORE

  3. 18. On the dynamics of footbridges : A theoretical approach and a comparison between running and walking loads

    Author : Daniel Colmenares; Raid Karoumi; Andreas Andersson; Mahir Ülker Kaustell; Pedro Museros Romero; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; footbridges; dynamics; human induced loads; human structure interaction; harmonic load; continuous beam; gångbroar; dynamik; fotgängarlast; samverkan mellan fotgängare och bro; harmonisk last; kontinuerlig balk.; Structural Engineering and Bridges; Bro- och stålbyggnad;

    Abstract : The dynamic behaviour of lightweight footbridges is often susceptible to HumanInduced Loads (HILs). Generally HILs are taken into account as moving harmonicfunctions in which the loading frequency represents the step frequency of the pedestrians. READ MORE

  4. 19. Robust Image Registration for Improved Clinical Efficiency : Using Local Structure Analysis and Model-Based Processing

    Author : Daniel Forsberg; Hans Knutsson; Mats Andersson; Claes Lundström; Wiro Niessen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Image registration; deformable models; scoliosis; visualization; volume rendering; adaptive regularization; GPGPU; CUDA;

    Abstract : Medical imaging plays an increasingly important role in modern healthcare. In medical imaging, it is often relevant to relate different images to each other, something which can prove challenging, since there rarely exists a pre-defined mapping between the pixels in different images. 5. 20. Treatment of Acute Uncomplicated Colonic Diverticulitis

    Author : Daniel Isacson; Abbas Chabok; Maziar NIkberg; Kennet Smedh; Fredrik Hjern; Wilhelm Graf; Caroline Nordenvall; Roland Andersson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Colonic diverticulitis; antibiotics; health-care cost; follow-up; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Abstract : The overall aim of this thesis was to evaluate the clinical management of AUD with regard to the no-antibiotic policy and its long-term effect, treatment on an outpatient basis and the potential health-care cost savingsStudy I:  a retrospective study at Västmanlands Hospital that evaluated and confirmed the adherence to the no-antibiotic policy in patients with AUD and its safety regarding complications and recurrences. A total of 246 patients with acute diverticulitis were identified, of which 195 had computed tomography (CT) confirmed AUD. READ MORE
