  1. 21. Importance of the Clr2 protein in heterochromatin formation in the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe

    Author : Daniel Steinhauf; Leif Andersson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Clr2; Yeast; Heterochromatin; Fission yeast; Schizosaccharomyces pombe; Biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Abstract : Epigenetics is an area of biology that studies heritable changes in gene ex- pression without any change in the DNA sequence. The most studied epige- netic mechanisms are DNA methylation, RNA interference and histone mod- ifications. READ MORE

  2. 22. A Sequence of Essays on Sequences of Auctions

    Author : Daniel Bougt; Ola Andersson; Per Hjertstrand; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; declining price anomaly; sequential auctions; train-ticket auctions; ambiguity aversion; risk aversion; non-parametric estimation; experiment; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Abstract : Essay I (with Gagan Ghosh and Heng Liu). The existence of declining prices in sequential auctions is a well-documented empirical pattern. Three explanations that can explain the puzzle are bidders being risk averse, loss averse, or ambiguity averse. READ MORE

  3. 23. A Co-Simulation Tool Applied to Hydraulic Percussion Units

    Author : Håkan Andersson; Daniel Leidermark; Kjell Simonsson; Joakim Holmberg; Pär Jonsén; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : In this dissertation, a co-simulation tool is presented that is meant to comprise a more comprehensive environment for modelling and simulation of hydraulic percussion units, which are used in hydraulic hammers and rock drills. These units generates the large impact forces, which are needed to demolish concrete structures in the construction industry or to fragment rock when drilling blast holes in mine drifting. READ MORE

  4. 24. Development and application of rule- and learning-based approaches within the scope of neuroimaging : Tensor voting, tractography and machine learning

    Author : Daniel Jörgens; Rodrigo Moreno; Örjan Smedby; Chunliang Wang; Jesper Andersson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; tensor voting; tractography; deep learning; tractogram filtering; diffusion magnetic resonance imaging; tensorröstning; traktografi; djupinlärning; traktogramfiltrering; diffusions-MRT; Tillämpad medicinsk teknik; Applied Medical Technology;

    Abstract : The opportunity to non-invasively probe the structure and function of different parts of the human body makes medical imaging an indispensable tool in clinical diagnostics and related fields of research. Especially neuroscientists rely on modalities like structural or functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Computed Tomography or Positron Emission Tomography to study the human brain in vivo.
