  2. 2. Organic electronics for precise delivery of neurotransmitters

    Author : Amanda Jonsson; Magnus Berggren; Daniel Simon; Marco Rolandi; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Organic electronic materials, that is, carbon-based compounds that conduct electricity, have emerged as candidates for improving the interface between conventional electronics and biological systems. The softness of these materials matches the elasticity of biological tissue better than conventional electronic conductors, allowing better contact to tissue, and the mixed ionic-electronic conductivity can improve the signal transduction between electronic devices and electrically excitable cells. 3. 3. Situations of opportunity for infrasystems : understanding and pursuing change towards environmental sustainability

    Author : Daniel K. Jonsson; Örjan Svane; Sören Bergstrm; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Environmental engineering; Miljöteknik;

    Abstract : Infrasystems are the large technical systems in society delivering water and electricity, making communications and transports possible, managing the gathering and treatment of refuse and sewage, and many other services. Infrasystems mean welfare, convenience and economic growth, but also considerable environmental impacts. READ MORE

  4. 4. Analysing Sustainable Urban Transport and Land-Use : Modelling tools and appraisal frameworks

    Author : R. Daniel Jonsson; Lars-Göran Mattsson; Anders Karlström; Paul Waddell; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sustainable development; Civil engineering and architecture; Samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur;

    Abstract : Sustainable development and climate change is high on the agenda for most cities around the world today. Urban transport is at the heart of these changes. Increasingly, it is recognised that not only is the emission of pollutants and greenhouse gases a problem, but also the detrimental effects of congestion and social exclusion. READ MORE
