    Author : Pat Scott; Joakim Edsjö; Lars Bergström; Jan Conrad; Dan Hooper; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; dark matter; supersymmetry; gamma rays; dwarf galaxies; stellar evolution; cosmological perturbations; phase transitions; statistical techniques; Astroparticle physics; Astropartikelfysik; Astroparticle physics; Astropartikelfysik; Cosmology; Kosmologi; Elementary particle physics; Elementarpartikelfysik; Computational physics; Beräkningsfysik; Formation and development of stars; Stjärnors bildning och utveckling; High energy astrophysics; Högenergiastrofysik; teoretisk fysik; Theoretical Physics;

    Abstract : The identity of dark matter is one of the key outstanding problems in both particle and astrophysics. In this thesis, I describe a number of complementary searches for particle dark matter. READ MORE

  2. 2. Delving in the Dark : Searching for Signatures of Non-Standard Physics in Cosmological and Astrophysical Observables

    Author : Janina J. Renk; Joakim Edsjö; Pat Scott; Felix Kahlhöfer; David F. Mota; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cosmology; gravitation; Galileon; dark energy; dark matter; cosmic superstrings; neutrino mass; parameter inference; teoretisk fysik; Theoretical Physics;

    Abstract : The dark sectors of our Universe, dark matter and dark energy, together constitute about 96 % of the total energy content of the Universe. To date, we only have observational evidence for their existence. READ MORE

  3. 3. Supersymmetric Dark Matter : aspects of sfermion coannihilations

    Author : Mia Schelke; Joakim Edsjö; Nicolao Fornengo; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Supersymmetry; Dark Matter; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : There is very strong evidence that ordinary matter in the Universe is outweighed by almost ten times as much so-called dark matter. Dark matter does neither emit nor absorb light and we do not know what it is. READ MORE

  4. 4. Searches for Dark Matter with IceCube and DeepCore : New constraints on theories predicting dark matter particles

    Author : Matthias Danninger; Klas Hultqvist; Patrick Decowski; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dark matter; neutrinos; neutrino telescopes; IceCube; DeepCore; dark matter experiments; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : The cubic-kilometer sized IceCube neutrino observatory, constructed in the glacial ice at the South Pole, searches indirectly for dark matter via neutrinos from dark matter self-annihilations. It has a high discovery potential through striking signatures. READ MORE

    Abstract : Russian émigré theologian Vladimir Lossky's (1903-1958) claims in his classic study of 1944, The Mystical Theology of Eastern Church, that the emphasis on the experience of spiritual separation from God in Western mystical theology ultimately goes back to how Latin churches began to add the word filioque (and-of-the-Son) to the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed in the sixth century. In his explanation Lossky discusses the theology of the Greek fathers suggesting that the idea of the Spirit’s generation from both the Father and the Son both builds upon and generates philosophical ideas that conflict with the possibility of receiving personal experiential knowledge of God.
