  1. 6. Crack growth in single crystal nickel base superalloys under isothermal and thermomechanical fatigue

    Author : Frans Palmert; Johan Moverare; David Gustafsson; Mikael Segersäll; Christer Persson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : This work concerns the fatigue crack growth behaviour of nickel base single crystal superalloys. The main industrial application of this class of materials is in gas turbine blades, where the ability to withstand severe mechanical loading in combination with high temperatures is required. 2. 7. High temperature fatigue crack propagation behaviour of Inconel 718

    Author : David Gustafsson; Kjell Simonsson; Johan Moverare; Sören Sjöström; Ulrich Krupp; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The overall objective of this work has been to develop and evaluate tools for designing against fatigue in gas turbine applications, with special focus on the nickel-based superalloy Inconel 718. The fatigue crack propagation behaviour under high temperature hold times has been studied. READ MORE

  3. 8. Road traffic metals : sources and emissions

    Author : David Hjortenkrans; Bo Bergbäck; Per-Arne Malmqvist; Högskolan i Kalmar; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Emission patterns; Heavy metals; Roadside soil; Sweden; Traffic; Sequential extractions; SFA; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi; Environmental Chemistry; Miljökemi;

    Abstract : As the environmental regulations and technical progress have forced the factories’ old “end of pipe” solutions to improve, the metal emissions from point sources have decreased. Instead, the diffuse consumption emissions from goods in use now are in focus. READ MORE

  4. 9. Generalised stacking fault energy and plastic deformation of austenitic stainless steels

    Author : Dávid Sándor Molnár; Levente Vitos; Guocai Chai; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; stacking fault energy; stainless steel; plasticity; deformation; ab initio; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering; Steel Forming and Surface Engineering;

    Abstract : Austenitic stainless steels are primarily known for their exceptional corrosion resistance. They have the face centred cubic (FCC) structure which is stabilised by adding nickel to the Fe-Cr alloy. The Fe-Cr-Ni system can be further extended by adding other elements such as Mn, Mo, N, C, etc. in order to improve the properties. READ MORE

  5. 10. Stacking fault energy and deformation behaviour of austenitic stainless steels: a joint theoretical-experimental study

    Author : Dávid Sándor Molnár; Levente Vitos; Göran Engberg; Guocai Chai; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; austenitic stainless steel; deformation properties; stacking fault energy; electron backscatter diffraction; ab initio; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering; Steel Forming and Surface Engineering;

    Abstract : Austenitiska rostfria stål är främst kända för sin exceptionella korrosionsbeständighet. De har en ytcentrerad kubisk (FCC) struktur som stabiliseras genom att nickel, mangan eller kväve tillsätts till Fe-Cr legeringen. Fe-Cr-Ni-systemet kan utökas ytterligare genom tillsats av andra element såsom Mo, Cu, Ti, C, etc. READ MORE
