  1. 1. Perturbed Renewal Equations with Non-Polynomial Perturbations

    Author : Ying Ni; Dmitrii Silvestrov; Anatoliy Malyarenko; Yuri Belyaev; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Renewal equation; perturbed renewal equation; non-polynomial perturbation; exponential asymptotic expansion; risk process; ruin probability; Mathematical statistics; Matematisk statistik; Mathematics Applied Mathematics; matematik tillämpad matematik;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with a model of nonlinearly perturbed continuous-time renewal equation with nonpolynomial perturbations. The characteristics, namely the defect and moments, of the distribution function generating the renewal equation are assumed to have expansions with respect to a non-polynomial asymptotic scale: $\{\varphi_{\nn} (\varepsilon) =\varepsilon^{\nn \cdot \w}, \nn \in \mathbf{N}_0^k\}$  as $\varepsilon \to 0$, where $\mathbf{N}_0$ is the set of non-negative integers, $\mathbf{N}_0^k \equiv \mathbf{N}_0 \times \cdots \times \mathbf{N}_0, 1\leq k . 2. 2. Defects and Surfaces and their Impact on Fatigue Behaviour of Powder Bed Fused Ti-6Al-4V : Characteristics and Modelling

    Author : Viktor Sandell; Marta-Lena Antti; Pia Åkerfeldt; Thomas Hansson; Stefano Beretta; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Defects; Additive Manufacturing; Ti-6Al-4V; Probabilistic Modelling; Fatigue; Extreme Value Statistics; Materialteknik; Engineering Materials;

    Abstract : Additive manufacturing (AM), of metals is gaining popularity as an alternative to conventional manufacturing techniques such as casting and forging. Metal-AM allows for the production of complex part geometries with reduced material waste and shorter lead times. READ MORE

  3. 3. Expanding the use of contract inspections in construction : An approach to inter-project knowledge diffusion?

    Author : Robert Lundkvist; Kajsa Simu; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Construction Engineering and Management; Byggproduktion;

    Abstract : This licentiate thesis presents a taxonomic approach to classification of defect information in construction projects. A conceptual model, based in a frame of reference consisting of the concepts of Continuous Improvement, Performance Measurement, Knowledge Management, as well as the current Quality Management regime of the industry helps to understand how the use of Contract Inspections can be developed towards facilitating inter-project knowledge diffusion and continuous improvement in construction. 4. 4. On Hazard Identification in the Automotive Domain

    Author : Fredrik Törner; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hazard Identification; Hazard Analysis; Automotive; Quality of Use Cases;

    Abstract : Electrical systems in vehicles are becoming more important with every new generation of cars since the functional growth in the automotive industry is mainly realized by electronics. The new functionalities can for instance be advanced safety improving systems or electronics replacing mechanical system solutions. READ MORE

  5. 5. Living with a congenital heart disease - adolescents' and young adults' experiences

    Author : Malin Berghammer; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; congenital heart disease; health; hermeneutics; interviews; quality of life; sense of coherence;

    Abstract : LIVING WITH A CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE: ADOLESCENTS’ AND YOUNG ADULTS’ EXPERIENCES Malin Berghammer Institute of Health and Caring Sciences, University of Gothenburg, Gothenburg, Sweden Abstract Adolescents and young adults with a congenital heart disease (CHD) belong to a new and in several respects unexplored population within health research. They represent a diversity of heart defects requiring different surgical procedures and interventions that create different physiological and anatomical structures, with various impacts on life.
