  1. 1. On Defect Generation and the Appearance of Injection-Moulded Polymers

    Author : Francesco Pisciotti; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; colour; gloss; ageing; rheology; defect; mechanical properties; surface topography; recycling; polypropylene; injection moulding; mass spectroscopy; simulation; polystyrene;

    Abstract : This thesis addresses the generation of some important manufacturing defects associated with intrinsic limitations of the injection moulding process. These include bulk-surface structural discontinuities, particularly air traps and welds, bulk-surface compositional inhomogeneities and gloss and colour variations. READ MORE

  2. 2. In-situ monitoring of laser powder bed fusion applied to defect detection

    Author : Claudia de Andrade Schwerz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; defect detection; productivity; nickel-based superalloy; process monitoring; pores; powder bed fusion; spatter; defect mitigation; mechanical properties; lack of fusion; melt pool; Additive manufacturing;

    Abstract : Additive manufacturing technologies, particularly laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), have received much attention recently due to their numerous advantages over conventional manufacturing methods. However, the use of LPBF is still quite restricted, mainly due to two factors: its typically low productivity, which makes the technology less competitive in applications with moderate to high production volumes, and its limited reliability, particularly relevant for applications where high performance is required from the materials. 3. 3. Exact Results in Supersymmetric Field Theories : A dissertation on the defect and deformed

    Author : Erik Widen; Konstantin Zarembo; Nikolay Gromov; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; AdS CFT correspondence; integrability; localization; supersymmetric deformations; Quantum Spectral Curve; defect CFT; one-point functions; Theoretical Physics; Teoretisk fysik;

    Abstract : Quantum field theories (QFTs) are the most precise descriptions of the physical reality that humanity has found. Yet exact predictions are often missing as most computations are notoriously difficult to carry out. One generally resorts to perturbation theory which immediately limits the regime of validity. 4. 4. Young children with atrial septal defect

    Author : Gustaf Tanghöj; Estelle Naumburg; Petru Liuba; Gunnar Sjöberg; Henrik Holmström; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; atrial septal defect; preterm infants; adverse event; heart surgery; incidence; risk factors; kardiologi; Cardiology;

    Abstract : Background: Secundum atrial septal defect (ASD II), situated within the fossa ovalis, is the third most common congenital heart defect and even more common among preterm children. Spontaneous closure usually occurs during the first year of life. Most children with an ASD II remain asymptomatic during early childhood. READ MORE
