21. Pollen analysis, chronology and palaeomagnetism of three Late Weichselian sites in southern Sweden
Abstract : Three sites, Torreberga in Skåne, Farslycke in Blekinge and Lake Bolmen in Småland, with Late Weichselian lake sediments were studied with respect to pollen analysis and palaeomagnetism. The chronologies are based on pollen stratigraphical correlations, radiocarbon dating and, for two of the sites, on a clay-varve chronology. READ MORE

Abstract : Three esker systems passing different bedrock areas are lithologically investigated. Mostparts of the eskers are of subglacial, subaquatic type. The existence of a preglacial furrowof the River Dalälven is proposed to be the cause of the longtransported lithologiesfound in the Badelunda esker adjacent to the furrow. READ MORE

Abstract : Large and complete sections through glacial landforms formed in subaqueous environments are rare, impeding our knowledge of their internal composition and the processes responsible for their formation. Following the last deglaciation of the Icelandic Ice Sheet (IIS), a marine-terminating outlet glacier advanced out of the fjord of Borgarfjörður resulting in large-scale glaciotectonic deformation of glaciomarine sediments. 25. Diatom and Sedimentological Investigations on West Antarctic Shelf Sediment
Abstract : Climate and environmental change following the retreat of the last glacial ice sheet in the Antarctic Peninsula has been interpreted, employing diatom abundance, relative abundance of Chaetoceros resting spores and diatom assemblages as proxies.
