  1. 1. Modeling of enzyme kinetics on polymeric substrates by simulation : Enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulose

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Veljo Sild; Uppsala universitet.; [1999]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Biokemi; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Biochemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Biokemi; biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Abstract : Biopolymers are an essential constituent of living matter. To develop new products and processes based on enzyme production and modification and hydrolysis of biopolymers, enzymes with well understood mechanism are required. It is impossible to derive a universal analytical model for every particular enzyme/polymer system. READ MORE

  2. 2. Reliability of visual assessment of medial temporal lobe atrophy

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Dept of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology

    Author : Lena Cavallin; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2012]

    Abstract : Background: Medial temporal lobe atrophy (MTA) has been found to be an early sign of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Visual assessment of MTA (vaMTA) is a rapid, cost-efficient and clinically adaptable visual interpretation method for rating MTA, based on coronal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. READ MORE

  3. 3. Hydro-Kinetic Energy Conversion Resource and Technology

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Mårten Grabbe; Uppsala universitet.; [2013]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Tidal energy; renewable energy; vertical axis turbine; permanent magnet generator; resource assessment; Engineering Science with specialization in Science of Electricity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektricitetslära;

    Abstract : The kinetic energy present in tidal currents and other water courses has long been appreciated as a vast resource of renewable energy. The work presented in this doctoral thesis is devoted to both the characteristics of the hydro-kinetic resource and the technology for energy conversion. READ MORE

  4. 4. Photonic quantum information and experimental tests of foundations of quantum mechanics

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Physics, Stockholm University

    Author : Magnus Rådmark; Stockholms universitet.; [2010]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Quantum information; quantum optics; foundations of quantum mechanics; entanglement; non-contextuality; Kochen-Specker theorem; parametric down-conversion; quantum state engineering; NATURAL SCIENCES Physics; NATURVETENSKAP Fysik; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Entanglement is a key resource in many quantum information schemes and in the last years the research on multi-qubit entanglement has drawn lots of attention. In this thesis the experimental generation and characterisation of multi-qubit entanglement is presented. Specifically we have prepared entangled states of up to six qubits. READ MORE

  5. 5. Ferromagnetic Resonance as a Probe of Magnetization Dynamics A Study of FeCo Thin Films and Trilayers

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Yajun Wei; Uppsala universitet.; [2015]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ferromagnetic resonance FMR ; Gilbert damping; magnetic coupling; FeCo;

    Abstract : The high frequency dynamic magnetic responses of FeCo thin films and structures have been investigated mainly using ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) technique.The FMR resonance condition and linewidth are first derived from the dynamic Landau- Lifshitz-Gilbert equation, followed by a study of the conversion between FMR field and frequency linewidths.
