  1. 1. Network on Chip : Performance Bound and Tightness

    Author : Xueqian Zhao; Zhonghai Lu; José Flich Cardo; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Network-on-Chip; Performance analysis; Network Calculus; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Abstract : Featured with good scalability, modularity and large bandwidth, Network-on-Chip (NoC) has been widely applied in manycore Chip Multiprocessor (CMP) and Multiprocessor System-on-Chip (MPSoC) architectures. The provision of guaranteed service emerges as an important NoC design problem due to the application requirements in Quality-of-Service (QoS). READ MORE

  2. 2. Modelling of Traffic Performance for Swedish Roads and Motorways

    Author : Per Strömgren; Harilaos Koutsopoulos; Nagui Rouphail; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Rural highway; Intersection; Capacity; Critical gap; Flare; Micro simulation; Motorway; Ramp; Weaving; Merging; Queue; Delay; Over-saturated; Time-space; Roadwork zone; variable speed limit; harmonization; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of five scientific articles oriented towards capacity. Managing capacity constraints with associated delays is a big issue at new design as well as at trimming existing traffic facilities. READ MORE

  3. 3. Contributions to Delay, Gain, and Offset Estimation

    Author : Mattias Olsson; Håkan Johansson; Per Löwenborg; Markku Renfors; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; time interleaved analog to digital conversion; delay estimation; OFDM; fractional delay filters; Signal processing; Signalbehandling;

    Abstract : The demand for efficient and reliable high rate communication is ever increasing. In this thesis we study different challenges in such systems, and their possible solutions. READ MORE

  4. 4. Performance Guarantees for Physical Layer Authentication in Mission-Critical Communications

    Author : Henrik Forssell; Ragnar Thobaben; Stefano Tomasin; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Physical layer authentication; mission-critical communica- tions; worst-case performance; queueing delay performance; stochastic net- work calculus; optimal attack strategies.; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : As the application areas for wireless communications are expanding, we also see new security vulnerabilities arise due to the open nature of the wire- less medium. One particularly challenging problem is how to guarantee the security of emerging mission-critical communications, e.g. READ MORE

  5. 5. Railway operation analysis : Evaluation of quality, infrastructure and timetable on single and double-track lines with analytical models and simulation

    Author : Olov Lindfeldt; Bo-Lennart Nelldal; Lars-Göran Mattsson; Ingo Hansen; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Railway operation; Railway capacity; Single-track; Double-track; Partial double-track; Inter-station distance; Delay; Delay propagation; Crossing; Overtaking; Timetable flexibility; Simulation; Experimental design; Civil engineering and architecture; Samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur;

    Abstract : This thesis shows the advantages of simple models for analysis of railway operation. It presents two tools for infrastructure and timetable planning. It shows how the infrastructure can be analysed through fictive line designs, how the timetable can be treated as a variable and how delays can be used as performance measures. READ MORE
