  1. 1. Continuous-Time Delta-Sigma Modulators for Wireless Communication

    Author : Mattias Andersson; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; return-to-zero; A D converter; loop delay; delta-sigma; ADC; CMOS; STF; continuous-time; sigma; delta; filtering; CT; RZ;

    Abstract : The ever increasing data rates in wireless communication require analog to digital converters (ADCs) with greater requirements on speed and accuracy, while being power efficient to prolong battery life. This dissertation contains an introduction to the field and five papers that focus on the continuous-time (CT) Delta-Sigma modulator (DSM) as ADC. READ MORE

  2. 2. Continuous-Time Delta-Sigma Modulators for Ultra-Low-Power Radios

    Author : Dejan Radjen; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Delta-Sigma; continuous-time; analog-to-digital; ultra-low-power; clock jitter; single operational amplifier; SAR quantizer;

    Abstract : The modern small devices of today require cheap low power radio frequency (RF) transceivers that can provide reliable connectivity at all times. In an RF transceiver, the analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is one of the most important parts and it is also one of the main power consumers. READ MORE

  3. 3. Low-Power Delta-Sigma Modulators for Medical Applications

    Author : Ali Fazli Yeknami; Atila Alvandpour; Martin Anderson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Biomedical electronics has gained significant attention in healthcare. A general biomedical device comprises energy source, analog-to-digital conversion (ADC), digital signal processing, and communication subsystem, each of which must be designed for minimum energy consumption to adhere to the stringent energy constraint. 4. 4. Complexity and Power Reduction in Digital Delta-Sigma Modulators

    Author : Nadeem Afzal; Jacob Wikner; Oscar Gustafsson; Mark Vesterbacka; Michael Peter Kennedy; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : A number of state-of-the-art low power consuming digital delta-sigma modulator (ΔΣ) architectures for digital-to-analog converters (DAC) are presented in this thesis. In an oversampling ΔΣ DAC, the primary job of the modulator is to reduce the word length of the digital control signal to the DAC and spectrally shape the resulting quantization noise. READ MORE

  5. 5. Design of High-Speed Time-Interleaved Delta-Sigma D/A Converters

    Author : Ameya Bhide; Atila Alvandpour; de la Rosa José M.; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Digital-to-analog (D/A) converters (or DACs) are one the fundamental building blocks of wireless transmitters. In order to support the increasing demand for highdata-ate communication, a large bandwidth is required from the DAC. READ MORE
