  1. 1. An Intelligent Multi Sensor System for a Human Activities Space---Aspects of Quality Measurement and Sensor Arrangement

    Author : Jiandan Chen; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; 3D Reconstruction; Depth Measurement; Depth Reconstruction; Dither; Human Factor; Image Quality; Iso-disparity Surfaces; Multi-Sensor System; Quality Measurement; Sensor Arrangement; Surveillance; Tracking; Uncertainty;

    Abstract : In our society with its aging population, the design and implementation of a highperformance distributed multi-sensor and information system for autonomous physical services become more and more important. In line with this, this thesis proposes an Intelligent Multi-Sensor System, IMSS, that surveys a human activities space to detect and identify a target for a specific service. READ MORE

  2. 2. A Multi Sensor System for a Human Activities Space : Aspects of Planning and Quality Measurement

    Author : Jiandan Chen; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; 3D Reconstruction; Iso-disparity Surfaces; Depth Reconstruction Uncertainty; Uncertainty Analysis; Dither; Sensor Placement; Multi Stereo View; Image Quality; Human Factor;

    Abstract : In our aging society, the design and implementation of a high-performance autonomous distributed vision information system for autonomous physical services become ever more important. In line with this development, the proposed Intelligent Vision Agent System, IVAS, is able to automatically detect and identify a target for a specific task by surveying a human activities space. 3. 3. Towards Reliable and Accurate Global Structure-from-Motion

    Author : José Pedro Lopes Iglesias; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bundle adjustment; point set registration; camera calibration; global SfM; Structure-from-Motion; radial distortion; 3D reconstruction; non-rigid SfM; pOSE; matrix factorization;

    Abstract : Reconstruction of objects or scenes from sparse point detections across multiple views is one of the most tackled problems in computer vision. Given the coordinates of 2D points tracked in multiple images, the problem consists of estimating the corresponding 3D points and cameras' calibrations (intrinsic and pose), and can be solved by minimizing reprojection errors using bundle adjustment. 4. 4. Improvements for IceCube Event Reconstruction through Geometry Calibration and Photon Timing Distributions

    Author : Matti Jansson; Klas Hultqvist; Chad Findley; Aart Heijboer; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Large detector systems for particle and astroparticle physics; Neutrino detectors; Splines; Maximum likelihood; Physics; fysik;

    Abstract : The origin of high-energy cosmic rays is an unsolved mystery because cosmic rays do not travel in a straight line but are bent by magnetic fields due to their electric charge. High energy neutrinos are predicted to be created close to these origins, and are an unambiguous probe, while gamma rays could be obscured or created by other processes. READ MORE

  5. 5. SEA CHANGE : Social-ecological co-evolution in Baltic Sea fisheries

    Author : Jonas Hentati-Sundberg; Henrik Österblom; Joakim Hjelm; Trevor Branch; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; resilience; social-ecological systems; complex adaptive systems; fisheries; Baltic Sea; Sustainability Science; vetenskap om hållbar utveckling;

    Abstract : Sustainable management of natural resources requires an in-depth understanding of the interplay between social and ecological change. Linked social-ecological systems (SES) have been described as complex adaptive systems (CAS), which mean that they are irreducible, exhibit nonlinear dynamics, have interactions across scales and are uncertain and unpredictable.
