  1. 11. Supporting the utilization of a platform approach in the engineer-to-order supplier industry

    Author : Samuel André; Fredrik Elgh; Roland Stolt; Jönköping University; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Product Development; Engineering Design; Quotation; Customization; Supplier; Platform; Design Reuse; Adapt; Concurrent Engineering;

    Abstract : Manufacturing companies are continuously faced with requirements regarding technology novelty, shorter time to market, a higher level of functionality, and lower prices for their products. This is especially true of suppliers that develop and manufacture highly customized products within the automotive industry. READ MORE

  2. 12. Free-Vehicle Benthic Lander Technology for the Study of Biogeochemical Processes in Marine Sediments

    Author : Anders Tengberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; marine sediments; benthic fluxes; incubations; chambers; in-situ; benthic landers; autonomous vehicles; lander technology; hydrodynamics; calibration; experimental design; Partial Least Squares PLS ; sensors; fugacity; oxygen; carbon; nitrogen; phosphorus; silica; dissolved organic carbon DOC ; total carbonate; recycling; burial; lander technology;

    Abstract : Various sediment sampling and incubation techniques were used to characterize benthic biogeochemical processes important for an improved understanding of the oceanic carbon cycle. Recent flux data from the Arctic Siberian shelf are revealing differences (often by a factor of ten) between areas affected by the big Russian river outlets (high fluxes) and areas with low influence from land (low fluxes). 3. 13. On design methods for mechatronics : servo motor and gearhead

    Author : Fredrik Roos; Jan Wikander; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Applied mechanics; mechatronics design methodology; servo systems; electric motors; gears; auxiliary systems; Teknisk mekanik; Engineering mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Abstract : The number of electric powered sub-systems in road-vehicles is increasing fast. This development is primarily driven by the new and improved functionality that can be implemented with electro-mechanical sub-systems, but it is also necessary for the transition to electric and hybrid-electric drive trains. 4. 14. Mathematical modelling in upper secondary mathematics education in Sweden

    Author : Jonas Bergman Ärlebäck; Christer Bergsten; Bharath Sriraman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to investigate and enhance our understanding of the notions of mathematical models and modelling at the Swedish upper secondary school level. Focus is on how mathematical models and modelling are viewed by the different actors in the school system, and what characterises the collaborative process of a didactician and a group of teachers engaged in designing and developing, implementing and evaluating teaching modules (so called modelling modules) exposing students to mathematical modelling in line with the present mathematics curriculum. 5. 15. Design and Optimization of In-Cycle Closed-Loop Combustion Control with Multiple Injections

    Author : Carlos Jorques Moreno; Förbränningsmotorer; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Diesel Combustion; Pilot-Main Injection; Pilot Mass Estimation; Cylinder Volume Estimation; Bayesian Estimation; In-Cycle Combustion Controllability; In-Cycle Combustion Control; Model Predictive Combustion Control; Stochastic Combustion Optimization; Hardware Quantification;

    Abstract : With the increasing demand of transportation, biofuels play a fundamental role in the transition to sustainable powertrains. For the increased uncertainty of biofuel combustion properties, advanced combustion control systems have the potential to operate the engine with high flexibility while maintaining a high efficiency and robustness.
